So sunday night me and the gf where cruising, I started to boost in fourth gear then blamo.... my engine blew like a granade. I now have a fist size hole in the back of my block :hellyeah:

Sorry to hear that :(. I hope this wasn't your daily driver.

So what caused it to blow or what were you really doing besides "cruising"

It seems a rod decided to throw itself out but for what reason?

Personally I wouldn't be happy as now you need to find a new block as well instead of reusing your (most likely) 6 bolt. Maybe you'll find a deal like I did and got a 6 bolt with crank for $100 but good luck.

^^ Im curious as well to what happened? Any ideas?

Oh and to the guy that asked if he had his laptop in....prob not since his GF was with him, unless she was sitting there wit the laptop monitoring and tuning it for him... er wait maybe thats why it blew up hahaha

What's wrong with that LOL? My GF sits in the car with the laptop. I tell her what's going on and how it all works if she would be interested. She doesn't mess with anything however.

I think I threw a rod, and if my gf was sitting there watching the tune that would have been SEXY!!! but thats not the case I didnt have the laptop with. I was running 530hp with a stock block, so I'm guessing my rod decided to peice out LOL. But the crazy thing is there were no signs it just up and snaped.

I have a 2.4l running longblock with 10k miles on it if you want to go "bigger". :)

I would be intrested in that but how would I get it and how much are you asking?

Says your best guess, ECMLink's estimate, or a dyno sheet?

I don't know what you were expecting, but connecting rods do not send an alert message to your cell right before they're about to fail.

Many times it's not even the rod's fault- often the stock rod bolts will break under the pressure before a 6-bolt rod will fail.

It dynoed out at 530, and my connecting rods did send me a text saying they where tired ROFL
