I just finished my 420a neon bottom end. My friends call my car "the NEON" now....
Long story shot. I purchased the car with a rod hanging out of the block for cheap... I coudnt find a 420dohc engine to replace it. The head on the car had less than 2000 miles on it before the kid blew it up so I decided to re use the head on a neon block. I did rings, bearings, water pump, timing belt and hydro tensioner. All the normal stuff except for I ended up having to have the head done again, because when the piston came apart it hit valves. So I only took it to machine shop for them to hot tank it to get any metal shavings out of it. Ended up doing alot more than expected.
Clutch is new and a "stage 2" clutch..... Whatever that means.... When I had it apart it wasnt a "puck style" clutch so I dont know why its anything more than stock, but whatever.
So now that the car is together and on the road, I would like to build a turbo kit. Nothing crazy, Im not going to test and tune night at the drag strip or anything like that. I plan driving this car daily for work.
I dont want to spend 2k on a set up, something fun and dependable and noticable while still being street able. Any sugestions.
I dont want to do stand alone management... or have to do anything crazy.
Something like a manifold, injectors, small ball bearing turbo, wastegate, piping and intercooler, maybe TB, and intake manifold.

. but a stock side mount should work well and stock 1g bov. cheap pipe kit from ebay and then oil and coolant lines and typical gauges.
