Didn't like what was offer for a rear chassis brace, design one myself.

The rear section of the body and rear crossmember. Its a noticeable mod during cornering. Yes I have a 15mm sway bar. Planning to purchase a Tanabe front chassis brace to complete my chassis stiffness.

That's what I base my idea from but made some improvements.

It probably won't clear exhaust piping that goes under the crossmember though.

I have not settle on one yet. Planning to change from a rolled steel bar to a tube to make it lighter. I will probably start a new one in mid to late Sept.

What are advantages of this brace compared to a strut brace other than the fact that interior stays intact?

This brace somewhat reminds me of what Mighty Car Mods installed on a Mazda in one of their episodes. Although their braces were for the entire bottom of the car, not just the rear.

Bracing the rear crossmember to the chassis to minimize chassis flex. I notice the rear stay planted when cornering, I just need some feedback from trial users to see if its worth the hassle making them.

I think it's great. Maybe a tad overkill though on the size. Have you seen the front lower triangulated bar from D3 Designs? Have you thought about re-creating that one also and maybe offering it as a combo deal?

And a little off topic, but I have thought about filling the "North/South" bar with some sort of expanding & hardening material to stiffen it as it can twist rather easily. OR, replacing it all-together with a tubular fabbed one.

It bolts to the inboard lower control arm bolts and extends to midway up the north/south bar and is attached with a bracket.

Prothane sells those bushings but only for the 3G V6 Manual. It will still work for ours. (Prothane 13-507)

No, I mean filling the actual bar with some sort of material. Or remaking it out of a tubular metal with spherical bearings to mount it to the lower rad support.

Got them back today. We decide on MIG but she wants to TIG, so I say "why not". Not bad for her first try. Just brush them off with a bench grinder attachment. I like the way they turn out.
