Thought I would post this in a thread to share. I am currently in the process of making my own rear upper strut tower and brackets since I like my stuff to be built not bought. Plus all the Chinese parts are crap these days.
The brackets came out pretty clean after powder coating them in a gloss black

Looks good. I am like you and i made all my own strut braces but i did them from stainless steel just because i like the dull finish of it. There are picks on my profile page if you take a peek.

Keep up the good work as its nice to see people making their parts rather then buying but not all have the time/ability or even a place to build such a thing

Thanks ec17pse,
Yea not everyone has the knowledge or ability to fabricate their own parts, stainless would of been sweet but I used 1/8" steel I had laying around so only think I paid for was the powder coating. Plus in the rear they will be covered up by the factory plastic interior. But after being powder coated I don't know about covering up the brackets now. I'm going to leave the aluminum cross brace raw and just polish it up for some shine. I love the look of raw aluminum

see i am the opposite i like the scuffed finish on most stuff and even more on stainless particularly 316! its nice and darker but polishing yours up would be nice! since i did mine i no longer use the cargo cover anymore LOL its a shame you have to hide it away if you made it.

i did put my covers on but i trimmed around for a cleaner look though, now i am not fussed but i will leave them all off when coilovers go on though so will be seen more

Thanks I appreciate all the comments.

I'll post a picture of the cross bar installed. It's almost done. Just got to get off the couch and track down or buy a left handed tap to finish it.
