im starting this forum like a poll. i want to know (and sure others too) how many of you tuners have actually gotten crank walk on there 2g and wanna hear all the people that havent. please just leave a reply if u have gotten it or not. thanx-greatly appreciated

just wanna see how common everyone makes it seem

I believe that if it hasn't crankwalked by 80k your good to go, I've had mine for a while and I've been modding it for a few years no problems.

That is merely your mind attempting to rationalize the idea. My 98 GSX was fine until 148k. Some might argue that the 2600 with a 6 puck is what caused it to go south.... Wouldn't know to be exact... However, I have been told by my shop and machinist that since it's early(and I haven't driven my car all winter) I maybe be able to get away with buying a new crank and bearings. I'll have to see when the motor gets torn down this upcoming month...

this is a dumb question and im new to DSM's but could someone explain what exactly crankwalk is and can an automatic talon get it, if so what are the signs?

you seriously didn't just ask that in a 6 year old 456 post thread, did you? If you can't use the search feature of this site, at least make your own thread.

I searched for 'what crankwalk' and got these handy results:

I have a 95 GSX that's on the verge of crankwalking (its out of Mitsu's spec). The fact that my car is an automatic is the only thing that's saving it at this point. I was told i could shim it to elongate the life a little longer..but I figure if it's going to happen, it may as well just happen. Im already rebuilding a 6 bolt to drop in anyway

1998 gst 215k no crankwalk. original motor never rebuilt. has been heavily modified for most of its life
1995 gsx 165k no crankwalk. original motor never rebuilt. was lightly modified most of its life and is in the works for being a full out race car.

222,000 1995 GST original motor and original tranny No crank walk.

I did just have to head cleaned up while I put a cometic MLS head gasket it.

The car pulls extremely hard still Its got a 14b in it as well.
