1G Coolant in my throttle bodie?

So when you would give my car gas the throttle would stick open. So I just took throttle body off and it is gummed up with coolant. So the flapper piece open or closed unless under a lot of pressure. How did coolant get into the throttle body?! Thank you

Probably you need to replace the FIAV seal. Leaking from the red circles in the pic below.
I recommend you to clean the shaft and the plate, and replace the shaft seals at the same time.

I think I might switch throttle bodies. When the first engine seized on this car I bought a second motor and saved a bunch of parts. Saws on a swap good throttle body I have for the s*** one that's on the car. To find out it has different plugs on it. Let me see if I can get picture up

There are differences between the 1990 and the 1991-1999 Dsm connectors, be aware of that.

the part number is MD614406. I think I got mine off ebay but a quick google search brought up a couple vendors. STM Tuned is site vendor and I saw they sell it on their site. Support those that support us!

I just found the STM site.. i just pulled my throttle bodie apart and the gasket that goes in between the COLD AIR SENSOR was over sized.. like it blew up.. and from sitting for a couple years the coolant gummed up really bad.

So i got the TB all apart and its all gummed up from sitting for a couple years inside the valves where almosy clogged.. and the funny but not funny thing is when I was driving the car the coolant would always go low and I could never find a drop on the ground or a wet spot on the engine. I changed the thermostat housing put a new thermostat in and Gasket even though the other one wasn't leaking I didn't it would still go low. Now I know where it was going.

Now my question is how hard is it to get the flap out.?? I got it a little freed up but it still sticks all the way open. I let it sit soaked in gas overnight. And try and WD-40 and letting it so and it didn't do nothing. Thanks for all the help.!!

What flap? the throttle plate?

Not sure what flap you're referring to, but sounds like the throttle plate. Make sure you use the correct size phillips since those screw easily strip and they're on there tight. Cordless impact with the correct size phillips is perfect for this job. Mark the orientation of the plate and when reinstalling, make sure it's on there straight or else you'll have idle issues. Here's a good video and there are more thread on here for rebuilding the tb.

Yea the throttle plate.. its sticks.. i ordered the FIAV gasket and front n backs gaskets last night from STM... now i just need to get the throttle plate to move freely.. and i watched that video... i have mine all broken down except the PLATE. thanks for your help!!

I have a decent throttle bodie if you ever need one.. this sucks it wont work on my car.. well it will but i dont have the plugs for it to splice it in..

Id like to do the seals but i think im capable of doing them myselfs. I did mark and take pff the 2 sensors on it. And have gotten it frreed up alot.. but while i was cleaning it i seen this little piece of metal over one of the ports on the coolant side.. is that suppose to be there!? it dosnt look right..

I imagine that the previous owner did a homemade FIAV bypass mod. If you don't want/need to bypass the FIAV then just remove it.

When i was 19 i bought the car and 3 months later it's seized. So I bought a donor motor and started getting all the parts and everything and that block bored out all that good stuff. So I'd imagine the shop put that little piece in there because I had the air intake powder coated crinkle black. It was that little piece of metal and a little clear gummy piece. What's the sense of that and how would I block it off if there's coolant lines to it.. if I put it back together without that piece and what will happen?? Thank you very much

Im just tryin to get the car home from my uncle's house which is only a mile or two away. And I don't want to pay $150 to $200 for a tow if I can just drive it. Then I will send out or have it rebuilt... i ordered seals and gaskets from STM LAST NIGHT. Just nit the shaft seals.. i dont think I'm capable of taking that apart with the spring and everything.

To rebuild a throttle body is not difficult, the hardest part is to remove the 2 small screws on the plate due to loctite and rust. But if you don't replace the shaft seals then no need to remove the plate. After put back the throttle body, just don't forget to adjust the TPS/BISS/Idle switch properly.

Im just nervouse i won't be able to get the green spring back on or something. I just have to move the car about a mile thats why im hopping it frees up a little more to work right.. then when i get it to my place, ill send it to this guy that rebuilds throttle bodies or if someone on here from JERSEY could help me.. o0o and whats your opinion on blocking the FIAV PORT.. I noticed when i took it apart , there was a rectangle piece of metal blocking the port.
