I want to know if I have this right or not, as Im thinking I have timing issue.
so is the coil pack just 1-2-3-4?
The firing order on my engine (not 4g63) is different. therefore I connect like this RIGHT???

DSM's use a wasted spark ignition. The coils are paired so one coil fires 1 and 4 and the other 2 and 3. So the plugs fire twice as many times compared to a normal ignition but one is "wasted" because it happens during the exhaust stroke. The 4G63 firing order is 1342 same as most inline 4 cylinders.

So in your picture 1 and 2 are one coil and 3 and 4 are the other. Which of the two coils goes to 1 and 4 depends on the ECU wiring and CAS signal.

While modifying the pics Steve already answered but anyways I post, too.

1/4 and 2/3. It's waste spark, so 1/4 and 2/3 is swappable.

4g63 firing order is the same, 1342.

Should be like the blue or green in the pics below, depending on ECU and CAS.

To reiterate.

There are 2 coils that each ignite 2 wires at the same time.

On the engine, cylinders 1/4 fire at the same time. Cylinders 2/3 fire at the same time.

If you have one coil hooked to cylinders 1/4 and the other coil hooked to cylinders 2/3, and the engine doesn't fire, the only move here is to swap the two wires on one coil for the other two wires on the other coil.

Assuming this is the only situation with the car running or not, there is nothing to do or understand beyond this.

Did it fix it?

It shouldn't matter if you swap the wires going to coil towers 1 and 2 because both fire at the same time. Same is true WRT 3 & 4.
yes, it did, runs now, just barely, see my main thread.
