Great Yikes! Its a tank!

Have a late 80s LD350 dump truck (crawler\tracked) with a big Four diesel and full hydraulic system.

Was wondering if it would be possible to switch over to a single (larger) battery unit. The smaller double batteries are somewhat lackluster even with a full charge. Will send exact bat. Specs soon..

Its a 50 PS Mitsubishi diesel with a three speed transmission and 86 platelets on the tracks - real fun on the top soil!

So it is a 24v system.
Are 24v batteries available? I know big trucks use multiple batteries but not sure of their voltage.

Thanks. Runs with year old batteries and still pulls uphill alright. Might need to do a motor look over soon. And hydraulics..

I am literally playing with blocks & rocks.
(The temp sensor gauge looks like the original one on the Galant, except the machine is full all -86 plate-drive, not AWD !)
Wonder what nhra would say if I wanted to run this on rubber tracks down Norwalk for a Wednesday Test&Tune ?

Thks

Are the batteries wired in parallel or in series?
What voltage and amp-hour are each?
Steve
The 2 batteries are
12V 68 Ah 730A saw
Here known as EC S95(D26)

As noted since the batteries are wired in series at least part of your electrical system is 24v. Sometimes there is a 12v in the middle of the two batteries or two charging connections to feed 12v to each.

All of this needs to be looked at to see if you can source a single 24v battery or if you have to retain the two 12v batteries.
