I was wondering what everyone thinks of a cf hatch on my car. Yes or no?
If I got it I would keep the turbo spoiler off. I just need to know before I order one.

And I don't say that because I'm a squid head either! Did you see the AAP Motorsports Supra in the last (not sure what month, but probably July) edition of Sport Compact Car. They have a white supra with full CF hatch, white roof, and CF turbo spoiler. It looked great. I hate the argument that CF is overdone. The point is weight reduction, the way it looks is just a bonus and if you don't like it, you can paint it or get it covered in white vinyl but still get the benefits of weight reduction. So do it anyway.

Who makes the CF turbo wing, I thought it was a myth.

hey guy's, i just ordered a CF hatch for my 1g, i'll post pic's as soon as i get it in and have it on the car. i think it will go good with my setup i'm using a CF hood, mirrors, gas door.. and now the hatch. i also decided 2 throw in some gun metal rim's and id like 2 paint the car white heh

i don't like them on white cars because it seems to divide up the upper part of the car a lot more. i love the way your car looks now and i would just save the money for something more performance oriented. if you had a white talon with the black roof then i would say to go for it, but right now your car looks hot with just the cf hood and black rims.

If you street race or drag race weight reduction is the way to go. And I beleive the hatch is heaviest parts. I am waiting to see a 1g or a 2g nothing but carbon fiber.

Oh I already did. I decided not to get the cf hatch just yet. I bought something cool for my suspension.

That black tube in the background was telling you "DO NOT" anyways. good choice. :thumb:

well your dreams have come true. "Carbonfibertsi" is building a carbon fiber 2g.

I'm surprised to finally here an import car person say two-toned, and glad. I have never seen any import with a simple two-tone paint job. I'd really like to see one; thinking strongly about doing that with my 2g. I'm also a carbon fiber freak, so I'll have to find just the right way to mix everything when I get there.

Next you'll see cf doors cause they are the strongest and safest doors on the planet WTF . Im interested in this topic cause im sick of always getting my miltary gear out of my trunk and doing a bicep work out each time i open that damn hatch. Maybe somebody will take off their hatch and weigh it with the glass w/o the glass and then get the weight specs on the cf one. Sounds a lot better than everyone sitting around here and saying "I think itll look good" "I dont think it will flow right..." Jesus Christ shut the fuc up and just go measure all that shit! So on a serious note this IMO would not be a bad idea because I know you can paint your cf hood or hatch (ask 97gstracer). His is painted red. So IMO get it, I want one and im def painting it the min i get it either blk with my new paint job or the nasty ass silver I got now(btw anyone know the color code on my shit)Peace :thumb:

They've had carbon fiber doors for awhile. I've only seen them on a Skyline though. Looked kind of off, but it was still cool to see.

Really? you've never seen a 2gb talon? They are ALL 2 toned. roof black, your choice of body paint.

I am surprised no one has mentioned the whole CF layup on the roof and pillars like some Nguyen guy did on his s14.5 a couple of years ago when he got a CF hood and trunk.

Cheesy mag but I picked up ?buckaroo?, or somethingto that effect just to check out how he did it. Thought it might give me some ideas for using CF in stereo work.

WEll we all know how rugged CF cars are after accidents after all the porsche Carreras that are getting scrapped for breaking rockers in minor offs, so I doubt anyone with anysense would do doors.

As far as weights on the CF hatch, and the OEM one and glass. That was either last year or the year before that this was done on this very forum. Guy from southafrica i believe it was.

someone posted that they had a carbon hatch on a 1g... where the hell did u find one of those???

Ok didn't get to take pics but here are some crappy ones from the show that I took. Some with flash some without.

nice pics.. and nice car

hard to really see how everything flows until you take a pic with the hood closed at different angles and perhaps better lighting. but looks like u have cf lip.. and assuming cf hood.. and as i mentioned earlier in this thread.. thats prob the only way someone could pull the cf hatch off looking good.. and looks like u did it.. take them better pics :thumb:

I'd save leave it stock. The way I think of it is in money terms. Would that money be better spent elsewhere? I'm not trying to convince you to do anything, I'm just giving my honest opinion if I were in the same situation as you.

different strokes for different folks.

I hope the clouds clear since I get off early this afternoon. Hopefully the sun will bring out the green flakes I have in the black and cf

Dont mean to be a dick, but would's you call the 1g's with the black top and wraparound wing and a different body color two-toned?

Anyways, the only way i like CF is all black car with a black-perl that has been put on the entire car also, or compleetly painted. IMO CF is tacky and impossable to get 100% perfect. It always seems to have just a few flaws.

Now on the other hand, for weight reduction, it's a godsend! I like to look at it this way, either 100% race which requires weight reduction, or just a "fast" street car with a full and USUABLE interior and a decent body.

there are pics of a vis cf hatch in another cf hatch thread where the guy had just taken it out of the box.

with this hatch i've yet to put the shocks back on and i need to cut holes to put all the panels back on

I see you used glass.. did you buy a new one or take the old one out from your old hatch? if so how much did it cost?
