cant get more than 13psi, bov leak?

Also most MBC's are at lowest boost setting when they are turned all the way in clockwise, loosening the bolt or knob is usually to increase boost. Also like he said above, the stock 2g bov wont hold over 14, get a 1g bov and crush the top to make the spring tighter, or get an aftermarket one. Don't go cheap on the BOV either, the greddy and HKS knockoff's are terrible and leak out of the box. If you get an aftermarker bov, spend the money and get a true HKS or Greddy or whatever brand you like, i personally love my SSQV HKS.

Without actually being there, how could we possibly be positive of anything ;)

I recommend doing a boost leak test right away. It's not too difficult and will help clear up your issues.

There's no way we could be positive it's the bov. Do a boost leak test to find where it's coming from. Seems pretty big if you can't boost past 13psi.

We can "almost be positive" because its a 2g Bypass valve and they are notorious for leaking. I am with you man, I like data and facts, but with any forum its really up to us to diagnosis with the details. Us 1g guys never had this problem, infact I didnt have to change from a 1g BOV till I needed a way to rotate the flange to direct the charged air back to the intake.

I say get an EVO9 bypass valve and call it a day. Made of metal and much stronger than the 2g/evo8 and will bolt up to the stock location with the 2g set up.

my friends got a 1g bov hes giving me, but u guys are positive it cant be a boost leak from anywhere else?

Common areas for leak:
TB gaskets
Injector seals
Loose clamp on coupler
Leaking BOV (2g stock BOV is notorious for leaking)
Intake manifold gasket
Brake Booster
Boost gauge
Anything that uses vacuum off the manifold could be leaking air out

I would do a boost leak test too just to be on the safe side but I clearly think it's the stock plastic bov.

I say change that BOV to either a aftermarket one or if your on a budget, get a 1g one and crush it. You will get at least 20psi with a crushed 1g bov before it starts to leak. Also get rid of the stock plastic upper intercooler pipe, it's a restriction. With those 2 things gone, you will see a big difference.

Honestly simplest thing to do is switch inlet/outlet around on the bov like i said. It'd take less than 5 min to find if it is or isn't the bov.

Then check for other leaks IF no change check all areas said by the agent. If you don't have a bltester, you will need to check/secure all areas physically.

90% chance your bov is the issue. Evo8/9 bov will work. I use the 8 without issues and it holds over 20lbs. 9 is the best though.

Flanges can be bought to adapt greddy type rs bov to the 2g pipe as well as recirculate it.
