ok i got 14b with front mount and short route 2.5 inch piping and i can't get more than 15 pounds of boost!! could it be due to the 14b being too small for the pipind and the front mount ?? i did the boost leak test and it sounds like the air escapes into the engine... how long shoud the piping hold the pressure for?

thx
andrzej

You probably have a boost leak. Your system take a couple of minutes to fully leak back to 0 psi from 20lbs. Some of the leaks I have had are. J pipe gasket almost all the couplers, throttle body shaft seals. BISS screw, injector lower seals, and the boost leak tester itself.

Or your mbc is messed up, You can pull off the nipple on the wastegate and go boost and watch the guage to see if it goes past 15psi. But this method is highly NOT recommended.

No I think your piping is fine. I have 2.5" for my 14b. When you say air leaks into the engine, what do you mean? You hear oil bubbling? or what? If you are doing a boost leak test at the turbo inlet and you hear oil bubbling that is normal for air to get into the oil at the turbo and go into the crankcase and bubble. Use soapy water and check everything, couplers, vacuum connections, throttle body gaskets, tb shaft seals, injector seals, you can pull your pcv valve out and listen to hear if it is leaking. Just make sure you have no leaks. To avoid the air leaking in past the turbo into the oil. you can just cap it off at the licp right after the turbo. Then listen for leaks and look for bubbles with your soapy water. good luck

no not oil bubling it sounds like the valves are letting air thru it sounds like ssssss..sss..s hehe... well i'll check the piping and see if it helps

thx

If you open up your oil cap on your valve cover can you hear the air a little better. You should pull your pcv out (of the valve cover), pressurize the system and listen closely to your pcv valve, It could be letting your precious boost past it after a certain amount of psi. If so buy an oem one (the ones from napa and such are crap) and replace it, otherwise ditch the pcv and get a catch can and hook that up right.
