Ok so,
I have a fairly new 36,000 miles ;) Talon TSI AWD or Eclipse GSX whichever you want to call it...It has an ACT stage 2 street clutch, Fidanza Fly wheel(alluminum) K&N filter, not cold air intake...and some hancook tires that are new...

My Question/inquirey

Some guy I know has a CRX that he is having a Vtech engine out of the Japan model CRx put in...basically in japan crx's come with vtechs and he ordered one and is having it installed.

He keeps commenting on how he is going to blow me away and I hope my gauges look cool while he is passing me, or some shit...

I want to know how fast will he be really...I mean I think I can beat him but should I bother or is his car going to beat me?

no clue let me know

How in the hell do you have such a low milage awd? And personally the only thing the crx has going for it is light weight. I dunno how this forum feels about racing, but at a "track" I'd say race him he will have a hard time launching so launch him when the lights change and just keep on pulling. Besides if you lose to a honda thats stock, the DSM world will look down on you :-(.

look at it like this he has an go kart with a big motor those cars are ligth
make sure u get the jump of the line and u will be ok:thumb: ;)

Of course he'll get the launch hehe, all wheel drive vrs. fwd, as long as he doesn't bog he should be good just depending on how much power the TtoSmall is wanting to put out that night haha.

I definately think you will beat him. My friend has 2 talons and they are alot faster than a CRX.

The guy that you know is probably dropping in a b16a. Which if I am correct has 158hp and 112lb-ft.

Bench racing...
That being said, a JDM Vtech Crx engine would be either a B16a or B16a1, both of which are good for about 160hp and about 111lb/ft of torque. Although there are MANY different variables involved, a lot of (otherwise stock) b16 powered Civic hatches and Crx's hit about mid-upper to mid-lower 14's. Take your cars to the track and see what happens. Do a search on bench racing, this thread probably won't be here much longer.

I ran a guy with a B18C1 in a CRX and had no problem pulling him. The are quick with turbo kits though. There was a guy with a turbocharged LS/VTEC down at Jackson drag strip running well into the 11's.

I'm not trying to start a vs. war or anything I just get tired of hearing his shit at work...it's like he hasn't even got a motor in his car and everday I hear "your gonna be sad when I kick your ass" and the thing is, i'm not a trash talker I say like nothing to this guy he just starts shit with me. I forget to add i'm a pizza delivery driver...and my car only had 15,800 on it when I got it like almost a year ago. It's a 1995.

so he is getting the stock vtech motor they put in the japan model crx's.
he has big "plans" for it saying he is going to beat all these porches and high dollar cars like the lexus g430..and so then I say I want to get a r6 motorcycle and he says he will bea that too when he gets all his mods done..i'm like dude a motorcyle has you beat just seriously shut up..

I dunno what it is about some people but they get a little power and they think they are invinsible...my car has some speed and I still know what cars not to mess with on the road, overly optimistic isn't my style.

peace

So, if your friend is getting a JDM Honda engine with a portable phone in it....

Don't ask us to race him for you. Do it yourself at a track and know for sure.
