What car really irritates me are the Sunfires. They are a whopping what 115hp? So many people in my school have them. Parents buy them one and all the sudden they are fast in them. Our neighbors had one. Riddled with problems and they were lucky to get out of the driveway. But all the poeple at school brag about there sunfires constantly, and say there gonna do all this #@%#@%#@%#@% to them, when truth is they know nothing about cars they know the word "nos" and thats it. But a91 n/t auto dsm with k&n, tranny cooler, and one of those tornado fuel savers stands a chance right? I'm looking forward to shuttin them up. And just for info, those tornado fuel savers help a lot for hp. I thought it was bull but it made a difference.

I don't see why not. Your car already starts out with like 135, right? I blasted a newer style Cavalier with my auto 2GNT. All I have is catback. Jeezz, that Cav was ugly. Parkbench wing, unpainted body kit, peeling tint.....

Thanx to my newest addition to my vehicle line up...a 92 Laser with just 56k on it i have had a chance to see whut these NT's can do. I threw a K&N and a Greddy Power xtreme catback on it and toasted every car that i raced in my 98 GS-T. Pretty bad when my laser beat all the cars that thought they could whip my 2G. And for the record they're both auto's. I dont get why all these peeps think that 5 speeds are the bomb. Sure you get a good launch if you can drive but hey when i hit second gear your behind me and thats all that matters.... I'm not dissin you guys either i'm talkin bour these A$$holes around here. If you must know the cars i beat, 99 Civic Si, 97 GS Integra, 96 GT Celica, a few Cavy's, Neons, 4 cylinder fieros, sunfires, nt and turbo mr2's and a WRX. The fastest one was the WRX but if orgot to tell the guy i borrowed my friends 75 shot of ZEX. . PEace

espydur, was the celica a gts? if it was then it was a six speed. anyone ever race a neon acr? those cars are sweet, stripped interior, koni adjustables stock. they were made so dodge could use them in a stock class for autocrossing. but they are quick in a straight line too.

I've beaten a few grand am's, explorer(are all explorer's V6, cause I know this one was, early 90's...he's a fellow pizza hut delivery driver) a prelude, some chode in a hyundai accent tried to pull on me a week or two ago, that was amusing, I just stepped on it and listened to his bass fade away behind me

MX-6. Same thing as a Probe, right? I think we stand a chance if their 4-bangers but if their six-packs, don't even try it. Oh, don't go by the body-cladding on the Probes. I always thought the "fatter" ones were only the GTs, found out otherwise the hard way....

i agree with larkett, besides mx-6's and probes aren't fast even if they are v-6's.

I don't know about your neon, maybe more people are willing to attempt to race you because of what you have....but not many people around here that aren't my friends try to race me, so I ask out of curiousity thank you very much....remember, you drive a neon!

I have already posted a challenge to any of you! Seeing as how your opinion of neons is low, that says a lot because YOUR enginge is based on a neon engine! The 420a was developed by Chrysler, not by Mitsubishi. Maybe that will change your opinion and you might think a little before shooting off at the mouth! If not, well, the challeng still stands!

So then you are saying that any eclipse with a 420a engine is not as good as yours? I have a 92 Eclipse gs right now that I am selling, and my neon will flat out leave the eclipse, and I have also raced my buddies 96 eclipse nt and I can pull on that too. Mitsubishis require too much maintennance, and parts prices are ridiculous. I live in the USA, and that is one reason I drive an American car. I didn't come on this board to insult, but I don't have a problem defending what I drive, and I am more than capable of backing that up.

that was just to prove you wrong, and my point is that any neon without a turbo is still just a neon, I don't like them, how they look or anything, I think they are g to the ay. My opinion as well as most other peoples.

the 4G63 was developed by Chrysler also.

The block is Mitsu, the Heads are chrysler hemi corp.

Most people don't know that, Look at the new evo motors, they are reversed lateraly, because mistu started to make thei own heads and cut off all ties to Chrysler.

I believe my car was made in Normal Illinois(eclipse). 420a is from chrysler 4g63 was mostly mitsu's doing right? BTW im not flaming you larkett just sayin my car is almost as american as yours if not the same.

To SAND14S: I am glad that you have spoke with so many people that you know thier opinion on the neon; I guess that is why so few people own them! But whatever, you obviously can't see past the end of your car with your narrow mind, or else you wouldn't be bashing anyone's car. To SILVERECLIPSE: I did not know that, so thanks for the info; I did not take it as a flame. I have no problem with people offering thier opinion, I just don't like it when someone starts trying to slam on something they know nothing about, and can't even back it up. To XHYPNO: Thanks for the info, I am glad that some people are well informed, and have no problem sharing info with others instead of putting others down.

sorry buddy, this is what got me started...and yes, i've read that our cars are quite american made, especially parts wise. And you are the one who introduced yourself by challenging everyone on the site, not a very good way to meet people here at dsmtuners.com, atleast me anyway.

I posted because so many were saying how easy neons are to beat; so if they are so easy, why no takers? I do not race someone knowing I can win, it's a waste of time and also not appropriate on the street. I can back up what I say, and that is all I ask from anyone. So if anyone wants to slam on my car, bring it on or quiet down. No one is saying eclipses or any of the dsm cars are slow; but don't start slamming on my car and not expect me to call you on it.

wow, look how my little thread has become so big ...by the way...im not a neon fan neither, but just the fact that he's got balls enough to come on here impresses me. will someone please take his challenge so we can have more than 1 opinion on how "fast" his neon is.(that is if u live near him)..or better yet...neon guy, why dont u go to the track and get some time slips and scan em onto here.

Already been to the track; track time is a lot different from street time. Yeah, my time was not very good; mid 15's but had no traction through all of 1st and part of second. I have since changed wheels and tires, but I have also added a different intake and larger tb. The track in Tucson is not running again until after Christmas, but I will post a time after I run. I will post IF anyone in a nt dsm decides to do the same, provided it is the same track. Everyone knows that tracks can vary a great deal, and if I post a time, let's have a dsm from the same track to keep things fair. Or we can find a road out in the middle of nowhere ( I know of several ) and we can run that way. Incidentally, I am not against making it interesting (ie, a small wager).

i'd race, i'm just no where near tucson. I'll take on damn near anyone win or loose, it's just plain fun, especially because i know i'm a better driver than nearly anyone i've ever lined up against.

I've just gotta say DSM, ASOG, and Neon people don't have any right to bash each other simply because there's so much sharing of parts and tech. between them that often what works for one, works in some way or another for the others. Besides, were all here for the same reason, to make our cars faster.
