I am sure this has been covered an I have been doing research an read the upgrade path at least 20x but its nice to have an open discussion about my plan to build my gst. I want all the good information I can so I dont have to go through the trial and error stage since money is on the lean side these days and I would prefer to do things right the 1st time.

My goal is around 350HP on the stock internals. From my understanding you can go to around 400HP on the stock internals so 350 being my max I should be okay with regular maintenance. This is and will be my daily driver so I want to keep it street-able. I also want to smash every honda that pulls up next to me LOL.

So according to the upgrade path I need the following.

1. Intake hard pipe (already ordered)
2.boost gauge (have)
3.BOV (stock but dosent leak at 15psi)
4.MBC (running 15psi without one currently)
5.3" Turbo back exhaust (in the process)
6.walbro 190 fuel pump
7.SDMIC vs FMIC (havent decided yet)
8. T28 or 16g turbo
9.SAFC
10. SOME GOOD TUNING!
Now from my understanding I can do this on stock injectors with the upgraded rewired fuel pump an should be putting down close to 350HP. Any comments/ corrections ideas and shortcuts would be greatly appreciated. Like I said I know this has been covered an I have been doing research but its nice to get imput too. Thanks in advance. :aha:

No, you can not do that on stock injectors. You'll want 660 (if staying with the SAFC) or better (if you're going to get something to actually tune with) on gasoline.

7.SDMIC vs FMIC (havent decided yet) PRFMIC OR VRSR FMIC
8. T28 or 16g turbo EVO3 16G WILL BE ENOUGH FOR YOUR POWER
9.SAFC ME PERSONALITY WOULD GET DSMLINK OR REFLASHABLE ECU
10. SOME GOOD TUNING!

And you'll need bigger than 650 injectors

So other than the injectors that should be about right? The SAFC wont be enough for a dd?
Any place you can pick up a eprom ecu and dsmlink short of $600?

It's not that it won't work, it's that it's an incomplete and half-assed way to do things. You'll need a different blow off valve, 1g will be fine. The SMIC will work fine if you don't do repeated pulls, but some hard pipes wouldn't be a bad touch.

so should I just forget the safc and focus on getting dsmlink? Injectors to 650s and hardpipes for the SDMIC or just switch to a FMIC because it would be more beneficial in the long run probably. I dont plan on taking it to the track at the moment but you never know later on. Anything else I might have missed?

Yeah just get yourself a eprom ecu with dsmlink light version and a wideband and that takes care of all your tuning. As for the piping get a fmic kit now so you don't have to worry about it and waste money on just a piping kit

I've been wondering this as well...since we all aren't rolling in cash would skipping the safc and going straight for the dsmlink be a good choice?

not happening on this turbo.. Need a big 16g or evo III to meet that number for dd use.

get some decent injectors
(750+ if you think you might run e85 some day) But 750s are about the max on safc (no timing control) and I would suggest link v3 lite unless you get a smokin deal on a safc. Do it once and don't look back.

In my 1g dd, I run link lite, zt2 wideband, stock side mount, big 16g and rc750's. It's a good time.

So after doing some researching it looks like my build is going to be around $2700 in parts. I should be able to do most of the install work myself between current knowledge and our site. Thanks everyone for the input.
