Planning on doing some performance mods for my 92 talon TSI AWD (4g63). I currently have an EVO 3 16 g turbo set at 14 psi with a mbc running an HKS BOV, ported o2 housing and ported manifold, 2 and 3/4 inch exhaust with downpipe, different ECU, and manual 450 cc injectors; also a boost gauge set up. In the near future i would like to get a FMIC, 650 cc injectors with a Walbro 195cc or 255 cc fuel pump, also a chipped ECU. Then later on get it tuned with 17-20 psi. Does this sound good for my car ( stock internals and transmission ) or no? thanks for the advice i appreciate it! :hmm:

Well sence you have a 16g already I would get ecmlink 750-1000cc injectors and just get a 255 fuel pump.Just my 2 cents.Don't forget your maintenance!:hellyeah:

Is DSM link a necessity even if i get the car tuned? Because I have no clue how it works and it can be kind of pricy am i right? Also do you have an evo 3 16g?

Not to knowing about the chips made for dsm's besides link, is it neccassary no? You can run air fuel controllers yea,but all around brains of the car dsmlink is ganna be your key.Price wise its not that bad I mean once you start looking into it you will never look back.

Well dsmlink isn't too bad to learn and you learn a whole new aspect of the car that isn't easily understood.

But what clipto said is the path you want to take. I would also reccomend doing the HG And headstuds just to be safe so you don't need to worry.

Also you can run v3 lite so it dosent cost as much and you still get functionality.
And don't forget to get a rewire kit for your fuel pump as well.

Nothing but a tune, learn how to tune it right from the forums(both us and ecmlink). That should set you up to figure out what you should buy next from learning what your logs are telling you.

Also +1 on v3 lite, very worth the money!

Do you mean can your stock internals handle that much? I'd say yes, but only if you have good compression numbers and all the maintenance has been kept up on. Have you done things like EGR block off and BS delete?

Thanks for your input guys what is v3 lite? Also my friend told me we can send our ecu's out to get chipped or worked on to allow more boost and fuel and things to the engine over dsmtuners - ( must be some shops that do it that use the site) ?

Also what is egr block off and bs delete? Sorry, but i just got this car like a month ago ha.

Don't really worry about the egr delete unless you don't need emissions.Doing the b/s(balance shaft delete) is a good thing to do and will save you the headache from the balance shaft belt snapping.Maybe a little more vibration from the motor as what its made to prevent, but in the long run you won't regret it.Also check http://ecmlink.com/ v3 lite is a cheaper version of link that will give you a little less you can do but more then enough to tune your car with.Tons of people use v3 lite as well its cheaper.Dsm link is also a logger so you can get it chipped but you can't watch what the motor is doing like in ecmlink, check out the website theres videos and a whole wiki what you can do with it.

Wow that v3 lite contoller is awesome! You can really adjust timing and everything right through the ecu!?

Hmm mabey christmas gift since my parents wont pay 2 months of insurance on it LOL. How much is it new?

O of course. I find out after they have sales ha. O well i wouldn't have had enough for it anyways. Btw, my friend and I recently put a Walbro 190 in his 95 talon, can i put the 255 in my 92? He didn't think we could.

I have been running my 255 with stock fpr forever, somewhat depends on the car.I am not to sure about 1g's stock fpr but ether way save yourself the time and money and just get the 255 and be done with it.;)

Yes a Walbro 255 will work, I wouldn't suggest using it without an adjustable fuel pressure regulator.

What are your overall HP goals?

Well I was checking his profile so he has a evo3 16g so he should be good make some decent power.I would look into a fmic too and a 255 will be good and a fuel pressure regulator for some insurance if you want. One thing I don't see is what your tuning with?

14 psi right now, and i'm currently not tuning it with anything. Thats why i was wondering before if i needed a tuning controller. Now that I know I need one, when I get some money i will definitely be getting the v3 lite. And whats the need of a different fpr for the 255?

The 1st thing on my list next is a fmic. Then a walbro pump, 650 cc injectors and v3 lite controller.

I would like to do at least 13's for quarter mile runs. So possibly 300 awd hp?

get ether 750cc injectors or 1000cc injectors save you time money and future proof.Well on the fpr sometimes the pump will over run the stock fpr, so getting a adjustable fpr would take care of that issue. Also 300whp is about where you will be.

The walbro 255 woulf do u fine especially with the set up u plan on doing u will need atleast 550cc injectors to pump feed 20psi on that 16g. How far along are u on the build now

If you look at my first post, thats what i'm currently running. I haven't bought any of the parts i've listed yet, waiting to make some money.

Clip to- So 750's would work if i want to run 15 psi or 20 psi as long as i get a different fpr and pump?
