Planning on doing some performance mods for my 92 talon TSI AWD (4g63). I currently have an EVO 3 16 g turbo set at 14 psi with a mbc running an HKS BOV, ported o2 housing and ported manifold, 2 and 3/4 inch exhaust with downpipe, different ECU, and manual 450 cc injectors; also a boost gauge set up. In the near future i would like to get a FMIC, 650 cc injectors with a Walbro 195cc or 255 cc fuel pump, also a chipped ECU. Then later on get it tuned with 17-20 psi. Does this sound good for my car ( stock internals and transmission ) or no? thanks for the advice i appreciate it! :hmm:

Fpr is a must especially if you've upgraded the pump and injectors with out,it you run the risk of drop in fuel pressure and that mean a chance to run lean from lack of fuel. So get one and be on the safe side bro

is the import tuner mag on the 1992 talon awd mods good to start with i was going to buy all they said plus FMIC maybe good for 300hp new to the dsm game need help..

Yea I will, wish I could get a package of what I want for like 500$ LOL parts are so expensive!

call up some venders or check SIM maybe they can make you a package deal.

Anything bigger or as big as a 14b turbo is not a bad idea to have a FMIC.Not all that neccasary but if making 300hp I would get a FMIC.You can pick on up cheap for about 300 dollars or see how leniant your stic side mount intercooler is.

O yea my bad i thought you mean something else. So from all of the advice, i'm thinking FMIC, then 750cc injectors with walbro 255 and fpr, then v3 lite and put the boost from 14 psi to 17-20. How does that sound?

Well once you get those things and you get a tune on dsmlink you can go as much boost as you want until you don't get any knock. You should be able to run that much boost no problem also if you want you can rewire your fuel pump too.

Yea you might find it cheaper or just grab the stuff needed to do it.Just got to look around for deals.

Agreed. There are even threads that show how to do it for super cheap with parts from your local auto store. It's much easier and some claim it's more effective to do the rewire after the battery has been relocated to the trunk.

As for the fuel pressure regulator, some poeple run them and some don't. I personally think a 255HP fuel pump will overrun the stock FPR at idle and cause fuel washout which cleans the oil off the cylinder walls and eventually contaminates the oil. There is no proof either way, but that's my (and many others) 2 cents.

Yea but I don't think you really need a 255"HP" pump just a regular 255 is fine, anything above that pump you will most likley be asking for 2 pumps whether its inline or 2 intank.

O I see. So my engine has all new gaskets, if I run 17-20 psi will I need cosmetic head gasket?

I run stock headgasket you don't need to worry about switching headgaskets unless its bad, maybe do a compression test. One more thing you can look into is to get some arp head studs to help prevent the head from stretching under boost. You can install those without removing the head.

Yea I agree oem parts are great but if you are goung to change out head studs I would go conetic its thicker and can take more abuse than an,oem gasket just something to think about you wouldnt want to keep ripping of the head to replace a head gasket every few mounth dependibg on how u beat on it

Yea I run one on my eclipse and its given me no problems went through 2 gaskets b4 I went cometic and its a world of diffrence but the head studs are almost a must to not lift that head under that much boost

Better safe then sorry with those arp head studs.:thumb:I think I might try one those cometic gaskets, I have always ran oem.

Why buy a 255 low pressure and then need a high pressure later? Throw the 255HP in the tank, cough up the cash for a AFPR, and IF you run out of fuel then put another 255HP inline. I cant think of any reason to not get the 255HP over the 255 non-hp. There even the same price.

And don't worry about the stock head gasket. More than a few people have claimed to make well over 500hp on the stock head gasket. You still need to make sure it's in good shape with a compression and leak down test. But other than that, all you should need in that area is some ARP studs. Chances are your old stock head bolts have been under stress for over 10 years now.

True but if its more a dail driver and his power goals it might help a little on gas mileage?:p But yes your right he could just go for the HP fuel pump and call it good.

Not sure yet if i'm going 255 or 195. But thanks for future interest! Im thinking 650 cc injectors, 195 pump, no need for fpr hopefully, dsm link, fmic, then mabey aftermarket exaust manifold and intake manifold. Possibly 300 awd hp?

Try find a evo 8 or 9 fuel pump there quite and should not need to worry about fpr.If your about 17-20 pounds you should be around the 300whp you want.Every car is different once you get it on the dyno you will know what to do to get the numbers you want.It should be fairly close tho.
