Budget 16g

Im 19 years old with a part time job and on a budget for the most part. Im going to be putting a big 16g turbo on my car (already have it). Also i have a supra sidemount that i am going to be putting on with a ecb and 255 pump (also already have). I do plan on getting dsm link and afpr (any suggestions). My main question is what size injectors would be fine with this w/o maxing them out? I wont be doing much more to the car after this until i can buid the motor so atleast not till winter/spring. Looking to run about 20-22psi at the track and 15 for daily use (my ebc has a high/low setting).

Side note my parents are tired of my hood being bent so they are making me get a new one...so im picking up a carbon fiber i found for short money so dont pm if you are trying to sell something to me since i wont be able to buy for atleast two weeks.

your going with link correct? well when you get link i wouldnt go smaller than 650s on a 16g. with link you can pretty much go as big as you want so you have room to grow later on

You need to get the afpr before you hook up that 255...and make sure all of the maintenance is done to your car before you slap on that new turbo... i.e.- gaskets, fluids, belts, etc... as far as the carbon fiber hood goes: Go to the marketplace on here and go down to search classifieds and type it in, and you'll see a couple of things. As far as injectors go you can run as big as you like but like Brian said I wouldn't run any smaller than 650's...because if you're planning on upgrading turbos a little on down the road you might as well get them now instead of getting two or three different sets

You'll max out that sidemount before you do anything else, I'd suggest selling it and buying a FMIC. Also get a FPR, link, 1000cc injectors and your gonna have a hard time controlling boost over 25psi with a EBC. I would also sell that and buy a Hallman MBC for cheap and use the extra money elsewhere.

I would say get at least 1000cc. The price difference is really not that much.

Im not too worried about my sidemount because i got it from my cousin who was making 500whp with it on and i dont think the 16g will make anywhere near that. So im going to look for injectors no less than 880cc. Any good afpr that i should look into?

If you are going to buy new injectors they are the same price no matter how big.

Honestly you never know how big you might go in the future. I'd go 1600s because you may end up being a E85 GT42R turbo guy .

+1, Exactly what I was thinking. Don't believe everything you hear, you still need to research to find out for sure. ALWAYS double/triple check everything if you car about your car

If you research, it says the Supra smic starts to heat soak after 400whp.

It is very possible with the proper mods, people have been pulling off high numbers a lot lately on 16g's. And just because it starts to heatsoak at 400whp doesn't mean you want to test that, you'd be better off spending $360 and buying a VRSF fmic and being on the safe side.

on pump? i have heard people do it on e85 and i dont plan on running that since its not easily obtainable for me.

I think since you already have the sidemount use it for now. There is no way your going to come close to 400 hp with 15 psi daily. Even at 22 psi i don't think you will be at 400 hp. I say keep it until you get a bigger turbo and actually need a front mount.

Thats my plan since it was free and i already have hard upper piping that works. Just need to custom do the lower one a little.
