I'm upgrading from my 16g. I'd like to keep it around $650 maybe a little more. I want to get a turbo that will definitely be more noticeable than my 16g. I have all the supporting mods and I'm running 680cc injectors w/ a rewired 190 pump. Any recommendations?

Best bang for the buck.

20G, you'll notice the difference... anything bigger and you have to start spending more money on exhaust manifolds and such... You could just hold off and get a 50 trim turbo and manifold after you saved some extra cash...

I've got my eye set on this.

Bolt On Garrett T04B V-Trim Turbocharger
- Actuator: High Pressure (12-30+ psi)
- Bearing Housing: Standard (non-watercooled)
- High Temperature Coating: None
- Turbine Housing Inlet: Mitsubishi
- Warranty: Standard 90 Day
- Wastegate: 38mm Internal

$750.00 shipped.

This will bolt right up to the stock manifold and rre 3" downpipe right?

Also, will I need any kind of install kit or can I use the stuff from my sm16g?

i'll get flamed for this, but I don't like the whole bullseye thing at all.. you can research the debates if you'd like.. but that's my .02

if I were you, I'd get a 20g or a bolton internal gate 50trim from any other vendor like SBR G50, the RS49T , the RS60T, PTE SCM50, Green, etc.

I didn't look at your mods list, but have you considered cams or a good tuning tool first?

I was thinking about cams.

You trap 105 w/ a 50trim?

Depends on the turbo inlet size, you might need to buy a 3' or 4' MAS inlet pipe...

I would hopw you were trapping closer to 115 with a 50 trim... but that all depends on your mods...

I'm not flaming you because I found that there are definately a few threads that make me wonder about their quality. But take a look at the first 2 turbos SBR has dynoed in the thread Slowboy - Turbo testing has begun!. They all seam to have an issue with holding the flapper shut but that is with the "low boost" actuator.

I say go Bullseye T04B 50 trim AND cams. You can't beat that price for 50 trim performance. It has a beautiful compressor map. I'd frame it if it wasn't so wierd to others :D .

In that very same thread they said the V-trim is a great mid-low boost turbo. In their attempt to get around the wastegate blowing open they managed to get some compressor surge at higher boost levels, which has been reported by other people as well. The 57 trim however has been shown to make great numbers and love more boost--just something else to consider.

As an FYI, we are going to be selling these turbos for pretty cheap after they are tested... I fyou are on abudget looking for some nice turbos that you are seeing the dyno results for, PM me, or email me directly or call in and i can give you pricing on them!

I've really found that the casted turbine housing is the limiting factor with G50 turbo. it's not a .63AR as I was lead to believe  :( since SBR is posting in this thread, any solid numbers of what it is?

*edit* I just called mark and he says that their cast housing is based off a .63

also, the SBR G50 uses the t-netics CHRA, so the compressor map will be similar to any t-netics 50 trim. I also thought that the bullseye 50trim was also a t-netics???

anyway, look at my timeslip and you will see why my trap speed ssuck. my 60ft was a 2.63 :tease: better luck next season. oh yea, those runs were made on a shitty tune with only peaking 13* timing, so you can see where most of the problem lies. shitty driving + bad tune = crappy ET + MPH

I'm probably hijacking this thread... but, you know, I as wondering about the 57 trim. At, say, 25 psi it falls below 70% efficiency at 40 lbs/min. But folks are running them on pump gas with decent success. Over 400 wheel horse power. usually that'll take 45+ lbs/min. But, 50 trims can stay above 70% efficiency at 25 psi all the way to over 47 lbs/min flow. But guys report lower numbers.

I don't disagree with you at all. This is just confusing. Looking at the compressor maps versus real life data, there seams to be a large discrepancy.

Either way, the original poster can make some huge power compared to the 16g.
