ok i have a 1990 talon tsi awd turbo with spec engine that was pulled at 20,000 and put in my car when i upgrade to the big 16G turbo and but a new air intake what little chip thing do i have to mess with to make sure it will run rite with directing the air and all

You don't have to mess with anything, if you're just keeping the boost at 15 PSI or less you don't have to worry about it. Now if you are planning on running more than 15 pounds I would look into bigger injectors, a fuel pump and DSMlink. If you can't get DSMlink I would go with an SAFC and Pocketlogger, its better to tune with outdated equipment than to damage something.

But to be honest, before upgrading anything I would get DSMlink.

Great tuning software. Has all the options and capabilities of a $1000 stand alone, but its free! Great product made by dsmer's for dsmers.

But yea get yourself a real boost gauge(stock gauge is junk) and a wideband first. Then something to tune with. That will let you get the most out of every mod you buy.

O yea, boost gauge and wideband first. Its good to know the actual boost pressure your running at. Stock boost gauge is more of a "dummy light" then a gauge, you can use the stock boost gauge for a knock meter later on. As far as the wideband goes, afr's are extremely essential in tuning and will let you know how far you can push the your current fuel system.

Heres a good guide as well. Should get you started.
