My harmonic damper/crank pulley came apart this past weekend. I got the new damper, but still waiting on a used lower timing cover and new timing belt. I was trying to get the timing set to lock the cams but I notice my timing marks are off now.

When the pulley came apart, it touched the plate over the oil pump sprocket and there are plastic shrapnel from the lower cover which damaged the timing belt.

I know I can just set the timing again but wanted to make sure there's no other damage.

Did I damage something else?
What would cause the timing to be off now?

Thanks
Tony

You just answered your own question. Pulley came apart. Damaged timing belt. Line up the crank. Look how far cams are off. If you're lucky you just replace whatever broke. Reset timing with new belt and go. If your jumped alot you may have bent valves.

Thanks, Paul! There isn’t too much damage on the belt. I’m going to rest the timing marks using the old belt for now and check compression. The only reason why it jumped timing that I can think of is that a piece of the plastic got caught between the belt and a sprocket.
