I put jb weld rated for 230 degrees to keep my pcv valve in place cause the thread housing broke all together. Will this work to keep the valve in the valve cover? Don’t want to buy a new valve cover right now. I don’t have a photo of the jb weld on it but it his is the broken part of the cover.

I haven't seen a heli-coil that would work. They are not as fine of a thread. Weld it up and rethread it is a possibility.

Is there a permanent fix that would hold up better...other than buying another valve cover?
That’s what I’m trying to figure out bro. Cause I really don’t want to spend money on a valve cover and gasket for something so small and stupid. Probably will get it welded because I won’t have to change the Pcv for a while since it’s brand new. Whenever I take the cover off I’ll just take the 3/8 tube off.

I overtightened mine by a hair like a year ago and felt the snap but it still stays in there. .. I have some plumber putty around it on the outside.. Doesnt leak at all.. .but I know i need to fix it with a permanent solution.

Well the correlation factor of nice car to shit box held together with jb weld is a slippery slope. If you cut corners it will eventually come back to bite you. Jb weld will probably work for a while, maybe years.

The fix is replacing the valve cover. You may not want to spend the $150 to $200 for a new used one, but in the long term are you going to be popping the hood of your car to show everyone your patched together shit box, or your pride and joy.
