So I’m having another issue. For some reason the last few weeks my cars headlights and all of my interior lights have been blinking. I’m not really sure why and it only seems to happen around 3k rpm’s and also the subwoofer kicks in and out with them. Does anyone possibly know what could be causing this issue?

Bad alternator. When mine did this I believe it was over charging.

Well good news is you likely have a warranty on the part.
Bad news is you'll be doing the alternator again.

Oh the joys of this damn car hahaha. I’m not going to give up on this pain. This year has definitely been a real test of my patience and limitations. She hit the big 20 and it’s like almost everything decided to break this year LOL

Yeah man I have had an alternator do this as well. Just a recommendation, it would not hurt to add a capacitor to the sub system to help alleviate the load on the alternator. Gets rid of the headlight dimming as well. Just my 2cents.

DIYMA Do It Yourself Mobile Audio is the place you want to go visit next for Audio questions. Capacitor adds a viscous cycle to keep it where it wants to be and it creates more load on the alternator inevitably; drain/fill, rinse repeat. Upgrading all the factory wiring from your alternator to the fuse block and upgrading the size and termination of your ground wiring will yield better results than your are currently experiencing with your music system. Also, if you have an older style amp that is not Class D, like A/B, you will draw more current during heavy bass portions of music than the equivalent amp with Class D would use. Also, having the gain turned way up and if the music is into clipping, you have equipment that could start taxing your charging system quite badly. Mitsu alternators by design get hot and sometimes heat soak so badly the drop charging voltage. I have been in traffic and watched this occur and stabilize once back to speed where all fans aren’t on and alternator starts to get more flow. Upgrade the alternator if your system is going to be too taxing by design. I have to speak in general terms here not knowing your other thread and what it contains.

Thanks for the info. But I do know how to properly install a system although it’s just an amp and sub. Nothing extra added to it. I will look into a capacitor soon and see if that helps any and then go from there. Although I haven’t had any problems with blinking lights before until lately. But I did test out the battery and alternator today with a volt meter and everything checked out normal like it should. Problem still persists so further investigation will start soon. And again thanks for all the info everyone has provided. Much appreciated
