billet tdo5 turbos

This site may earn a commission from merchant affiliate links, including eBay, Amazon, and others.

Until there is real world data for a single turbo on a 4G63 DSM application, none of the results posted mean anything in this community. Bolt it up to a DSM and post the results. No sense in sharing results from another application, all it's doing is building a false perception on what these turbos "might" do for our cars.

I see that all of their product pages display two turbos - maybe those prices are for two turbos... :)

"This is for One Turbo Only.

No core charge"

$2200 for a single 16g based turbo. Got to be out of your mind.

From the looks of it only stage 1 and 2 are td05. The rest use an upgraded turbine wheel. Unless we get turbine specs, I cant call bullshit on that.

The 842whp numbers are from the stage 4 turbo I think, which states the turbine wheel was to large for the stock 7cm housing. Means its larger then tdo6.

Sike pictures of the stage 4 show it in the stock housing. turbine looks huge though, and the 7cm housing is definitly choking that turbine.

Think about it, fp red (tdo6+60-1) has made real power. And that stage 4 has a larger turbine? Shit I bet that turbo hauls ass, and flows well over 60lbs a min.

Also its twin turbo. I can believe it. Would love to see some dsm results though

Compressor inducer doesn't look much larger than a 68HTA although I'm not sure what the exducer is.

That turbine wheel blows my f*cking mind. Such a unique design with an insane amount of surface area that has been clipped to the max!

I took one of these apart recently it is a MAP EF2 compressor. It had a 51mm inducer and a 68mm exducer if i remember correct. I would say this turbo could be a little better at lower boost levels then a HTA68 but its just a guess from the blade design. This version had a unclipped TD05H turbine wheel and a EVOIII turbine and compressor cover that was milled out for the larger MAP compressor.

The stage 4 compressor is quite a bit larger than the 68hta. Exducer on compressor is 76, but MTC doesn't list Inducer size. Yeah turbine wheel is crazy! They had to buy heavy duty MHI exhaust housings in order to fit it. Wouldn't fit in standard MHI td05 housing.

I have two stage 2's on my 3.0 3000gt. Haven't turned up the wick yet. Will soon. The stage 4's would be a little more lag than I want with a 3.0 (1.5x2). One would be perfect IMO on a 4g63 and 600++ potential. Just search for MAP EF2, EF3 and EF4 results. Evos have laid down some impressive #'s with the EF4.

MTC Stage 4 has a twin 7 blade 76mm compressor wheel, Their custom turbine wheel also has an 8 degree clip.

MTC Stage III made 650 WHP on EVO.

On one with every supporting mod under the sun, I believe 2.3 w/cam's & heads, filled with E95 it put down 780WHP.

That's the stage III of course which is depicted below

The wheel on the right is pretty close to an HTA68 it's their stage 1 wheel. It made a little more torque and had a higher peak horsepower on the 3000gt at the same boost and fuel type vs the HTA68. Compare it to the stage 3... Big difference. 700+ HP potential for you 4 bangers on the stage 4.

Got an email back from midwest. Here is what they sais about stage 1 and 2.

With any turbo upgrade it includes a full rebuild, high temp coating for the chra and turbine housing, and balancing. The stage 2 actually has an upgraded turbine shaft and compressor wheel. Stage 1 has just a comp wheel upgrade. We machine the compressor cover to fit the stage 2 billet wheel and machine the turbine housing to fit the turbine wheel. Stage 2 comes with a Greddy TD06SL2 turbine wheel. All our turbos come with a 1 year full warranty as well.

If you are interested in just the comp wheels we can sell them for 350 a piece.

So for 350$ a peice I am not going to foot the bill for testing on a dsm..

76mm is the same exducer spec as a 60-1, a turbo known to generate 600+whp on a DSM.

The 60-1's inducer spec is 59mm; seeing as the new inlet has been fitted this could very well be a billet version of a 60-1.

Is the MTC stage 3 and 4 turbine wheel exclusive to their turbos? This could possibly be a more efficient option then switching to a TD06H turbine. That is, if someone has spare cash to throw around.

I am honestly considering the MTC stage 3 turbo for my next upgrade. You just can't beat it.

The stage 4 would dominate the stock appearing class at the shootout if it was utilized on the right setup. Such as lucas english's car.

^MTC Stage 2 and 3 turbos use the same turbine (td06sl2). Stage 4 gets a bigger turbine, which I believe is exclusive.

Here's my understanding. Quite sure it's accurate...
Stage 1: 69mm exducer compressor, td05 turbine
Stage 2: 69mm exducer compressor, td06sl2 turbine
Stage 3: 76mm exducer compressor, td06sl2 turbine
Stage 4: 76mm exducer compressor, MONSTER turbine

Not released yet.
Stage 5: 83mm??? compressor (new comp housing to fit wheel), MONSTER turbine (same as stage 4, so still bolts on)

a long time ago before BW bought them i had an of the shelf shwitzer turbo that was very similar in compressor to the modern s362. The turbine looked a lot like that stage 4 wheel. These were billed as "high impact" designs back then and stock hitachi's for some japansese model rx7's had a wheel that looked the same, but much smaller.
