I was thinking of swapping out my t25 for a tdo5 because i was able to run alot more boost with the tdo5 back when i had my 1g. Is there any reason this is going to b a hassle and does anyone have a how to link..
I know i will have to use a j-pipe and re route the oil feed line.
i have my wastegate disconnected from my t25 just to c what it would push max psi and its only running 10psi?? Should i swap to the tdo5 seems how i have an extra one lying around (im currently running a 2g gst)

I did a 14b on my 98 GST for real cheap. Don't buy into this installation kit hype. I needed a J-Pipe and a 1G oil feed line. I also replaced the gaskets while I was there. I re-used the water lines from my T25 and I bought a SS feed line. However, if I wanted I could have gotten away with a J-Pipe and oil return gaskets only.

Yesir i always look first. But the comps here at my work dont like to load search reviews sometimes

What a whole bunch of useless steps and parts.

Even tho it's useless, it's your opinion...op asked for a how to link, this link shows how to with good pictures...just because you are a "professional turbo swapper" does not mean others are and know of shortcuts, for someone who has never done the swap, the link is actually very usefull

It seems like a decent enough write-up to me. I just swapped my t25 for a 20g a few weeks ago; the author of the write-up covered everything relevant IMO (even though there are some small differences with my setup). To each their own, but I think to do the job thoroughly the parts in the install kit are worth the money.

Useless response, from a person who posted a useless link.

OP, you don't need to drain your oil or your coolant, just clamp off the lines when you remove them. My recommendation is 1G oil drain, find a used one, a stainless steel feed with an Earl's filter and whatever piping you will need to route to the stock intercooler. You can skip the feed, but I say meh just get it out of the way, it's a modification that can grow with you.

Re-use your water lines with a little bending they will work.

The key to this swap is to open your eyes and not just follow along blindly with some tutorial or online write-up, "short cuts" are simply efficient ways people have done task a with b materials left lying around to get a job done.

That's right after my 14b swap on my GST, only things I bought were the feed line. I had extra gaskets and a 1G oil return lying around. The J-Pipe came with the front mount kit. YMMV, but not much.

What a whole bunch of useless steps and parts.
....not to mention the routing of the oil feed line facing the wrong direction of the turbo as it leaves the filter housing, and the caking of copper RTV at both drain line flanges. I'm sure it looks like this on the inside:

Definitely not something I'd be proud enough to publish on the internet.
