hi, i wona upgrade my turbo on the gsx, and there is so many choices dont know which one to buy, so i asking you pepz wich turbo is best for under 1k for street/strip setup thanks,

I have a 50 trim setup with all supporting mods

What would you guys think is a good stall speed for the TQ ?

your mods say u have a 4k stall converter? you can't build enough boost off the line with that?

2.3L buildup. or 2.4L buildup... not sure which way i wanna go yet.


but on stock stall i see a 50trim being the highest used. did i miss someone i've looked around and that was the biggest turbo i've seen being used on a stock stall.

Ok i have a 92 eagle talon tsi awd. I was just wondering what would be the best turbo for my car. I have about 1000 to spend on it. The only mod i have is ported headers with a t25/t28 flange. Keep in mind that my car is an automatic so I have the 13g turbo.
 
Hey guys i was just wondering what the best turbo upgrade i should do. I had a e3 16g and loved it but it blew up on me. I want another one but not sure if it will meet my needs. I wanna make around 350 awhp in the future on this turbo with cams and other misc mods, is this possible
 
Well, a 50 trim would be a good one to go with I would say. They are rated for up to 450hp, and make around 350hp around 21psi. This is dependent on condition of motor, and other mods of course. http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=208481&highlight=sbr+test

Of course, with wanting those horsepower levels, you will need to upgrade your fuel system. I would recommend FIC 720cc's,190lph rewired or 255lph pump with AFPR and DSMlink to tune with.

It is feasable to just get another EVOIII 16g to obtain that 350hp, but most seem to not be able to reach this power with it, although companies have shown it capable of 400+hp.

I second the 50 trim it should easily be able to support your power goals with the proper supporting modifications. The PTE SCM-5031E is a great one to go with. If you have the cash a bb model will drop your spool times a bit.
 
i am currently in the process of building my motor and i want to maximize the horsepower...what turbo have you guys found to be the best with power and spool time? There is currently a gt40 61trim at the shop i work at available for me if i want it would that be a good choice?
 
I belive that any of the Garrett GT series will be an awsome turbo

will it be for street or drag??

The turbo at the shop what are the specs on it??
spool time is going to have to manly determining factors.

I also think the GT35R in a T3/T4....you couln't go wrong either


Im gonna run a dual BB GT40R 67mm inducer / 94mm exducer .82ar full T4....
w/ an equal lenght mani and 4 inch down pipe and exhaust
 
this is more of a show car that i want to like 500hp and i am currently unsure of the turbo specs...i'm kinda new to the whole big turbo game im just sporting the big16g right now...is your manifold made yet? if so who made it ### i want a top mount but no one that i saw makes a decent turbo manifold besides obx's ramhorn i i dont really want that..

BUT if it is just a show car the the 40r in the shop now SHOULD be fine " i say should because we really need the specs"


no the mani is not done yet only the jig is BUT my turbo set up is going to look something like AMS evo's new set up or john shepards new set up also........

BUT im going to have them make a jig for a daily driver top mount set up and i plan to sell these equal lenght manis once i get back "but you sisnt hear that from me still is a long time from now but that is the plan"

and no i would not use an OBX mani either
 
Check out the forcedperformance 3065! Its a very nice turbo that had a Garrett BB CHRA with a mitsu exhaust housing on it! I want it but i am just going to go with the Green I believe.
 
i like the 3065 also but thr mitshu flange has a circular inlet and a T3 or T4 is more of a rectangular BUT if the mani id going to be made anyway there shouldnt be a problem with the flange being either or.

i say since your more of a show car and not go stay with a T3/T4 .... i still say 35r
 
thats a bad ass turbo
its basicly a non-BB turbo 35r BUT imo ithunk its pretty big to be non bllearing imo and that is were the 35r will kick ass although it is 400$ more but i think it is way worth it....

right now at the shop were my car is at there my friends 99 420a with a 35r and 44mm tial wastegate on it with an equl length mani and 3inch down pipe.....but they have not tuned it yet so no dyno results yet, sorry " thats why i was telling you about that manifold"

are you gonna go with a t3 0r t4 on the turbo you choose exhaust housing??
