I have 97 gst with many mods but time to go all in.
My car has 6 bolt swap right now. Nothing weong.
I bought a 7 bolt stock with awd auto trans and transfer case on it.

My car is a 5 speed. I know I can drop in the motor no problem and keep my car on the road while I have motor work done.

? Is how hard would it b to drop in the auto with it and just run fwd.
can u leave the transfer case on it. I'm sure there is a right up on it just can't find one specif to what I want to do. I gave all the orher things for the auto like shifter and lines blah blah.

I'm wondering about how the t case will fit in my car and my driveshafts

If someone could tell me if they have ever done this or I'd it is even possible.

Befor anyone ask y I don't just leave 5 speed in it. I'm gonna have it rebuilt also. Just want to keep my car rolling.

You would need to remove the viscus coupler in the awd trans as to not blow up your center diff when running fwd. the auto used a different gear ratio for the tcase AND rear diff. Althought i heard all 2g rear diffs have the same ratio (between years) but i think i remember something about auto being different then the rest.

Anyway remove the viscus coupler and install the eliminator, you'll be fine for fwd

I am running a 2g Awd auto in my Colt right now. It is converted to fwd. It is awesome for drag racing. I never leave 6500-7000rpm in between shifts. You just need to weld up the center differential. If you don't weld up the center diff, it will not transfer the power to the front diff completely. It is easy to remove. There is no special needed to weld it up. You just need on of the gear inside the center diff welded up. You can keep the output shaft in to seal the tranny on that side or plug it with a freeze plug and jb weld.
