background info: I have a 1991 awd turbo auto
ok. so i have posted about this issue before, and i don't know much about auto transmissions.
the car runs great and the transmission shifts great when it is cool. and once it warms up, it still runs great and shifts fine for awhile.
then after about 20 minutes of driving (maybe it takes longer for the transmission to heat up to operating temperature?) the trans will not upshift until the RPM is at 3500 (on the dot) no matter what. sometimes it will refuse to go into overdrive after you have been driving for about 45 minutes.
also, when slowing down to a stop, it will clunk and jerk while downshifting from 3 to 2, then another clunk/jerk while downshifting from 2 to 1.
and one more thing that seems weird, (ONLY after the trans starts shifting at 3500) the engine wants to stall, and sometimes does stall.
once this has happened and i park the car, it clunks into every gear.
i am at a loss for what to do here. i have replaced the filter and changed the fluid. i cleaned the valve body. there was not much of anything in the pan and the fluid was not burnt. barely a spec on the magnets in the pan.
if anyone can be of any help please!!! i need it! thank you
