Big difference between a PPG dog box and a sequential. That's not horrible for a sequential

If you look closely it still is missing quite a few details, from mounting points, release bearing assembly (id assume they would integrate a Tilton or QM HTOB in to it. Then output shaft, front diff cost, zero details on the gearset regarding profile, ratios, torque capacity, what kind of center differential is being utilized, external cooler ports, internal fluid pump, etc.

Pictures look nice, but real details are needed to see whats going on.

A proper sequential with all the components I would budget $26,000-30,000 for. Then you still need clutch, tcase, etc.

Since it's also on evo 1-3 don't forget the final drive. So unless a dsm finnal drive is available you will have to change the rear ring a pinon also.

I’ve seen a video of that transmission in use before, it was a rally car driving around on the street. The manufacturer is Czech I believe, they had plans to make a very wide range of Group A Evo parts and had them all drawn in CAD, but then COVID hit. They had working prototype parts for everything, and it was a great way to drop $100,000 if it ever came about. The transmission was among those offerings.

FYI - a sequential has been released. I haven’t looked to see if it’s the same group, but they’re based in Central Europe and the overall design looks to be the same.

Looks like it's the same people. If I had money to burn I'd buy one but I don't. I could've sworn someone did a sequential for these cars back in the day or maybe I'm just losing my mind. Probably the latter.

Holinger did a run of 6 speeds for Ralliart’s Group A cars in the 90s, which was the only pure sequential W5M33-platform transmission. It used a GTO transfer case and could be adapted to a variety of final drive ratios. There were other suppliers for Ralliart’s racing efforts (Hewland, X-Trac, and others), but they were all H-pattern dogboxes. Holinger tells people that they will build another run if they get 10 people at $30,000 AUD each (pre-pandemic pricing), which just seems like they don’t want to do it at all. Some used boxes still appear around that amount from time to time in the rally circles. But I think this Czech version leans heavily on the Holinger design (and ratios), so it should take an absolute beating.

I saw some super old information saying a RR car had an Albins dogbox that floated around a bit. The Albins kit was either a 5 or 6 speed helical dogbox at the time with super close ratios, but I heard of a custom made rally kit that even Albins was confused by. It might be doable on a street car since it’s quiet, albeit with the dog engagement shifts. They still make 5 speed kits that are a bit stronger than the old stuff.
