I thought twice about it and agree. 800 bucks? No. That could go a long way towards other things that i actually NEED.

ouch...... Yea, stock shafts for me for sure. Ill rebuild them if necessary but i doubt theyll need it.

Getting a quote for my new garage this week. Building a 24X30 double door JUST TO BUILD THIS DAMN CAR! If i had a nearby shop i could use i would have done it but it was a good excuse to add value to my house and have something for me to tinker in. Local dsmer is helping with the swap. If any of you are interested Menards is fn awesome. Great prices.
contractor gave me a ballpark and time frame. 3 weeks and itll be completed. Enough room to install a lift later on if i wanted too. Writing a 12,000 check will be a first for me. kinda hurts. Then another 5k on the eclipse.

Anyone drill out these spot welds to release the subframe bolts? Having trouble getting the bolts out.

Hole saw did indeed work.. Thanks man! Now just need to make it look pretty when I go to put them in the car thats about to be swapped.

So I'm going to be working the Awd sending unit plug here in a bit I'm a little confused though, I've searched and just haven't found a definite answer, this is the diagram I'm following,

Notice it says fwd plug 1 & 2 the only plug I could find was this one

Do I still follow that diagram or is there a different one I'm not aware about?

Ive got a good one I drew up for someone who PM'd me about it, never posted it in here. See if this clears up some confusion, this is how my car's wired up and I've got a functioning level gauge too. I'm not familiar with that connector you're holding either, maybe because it's a Spyder it looks different? The donor GSX had ABS and I think there was a connector like that on top of the subframe that looked similar.

This also included my fuel pump rewire...

Here's the attached version so it doesn't disappear with my flickr account someday. Below is the link to the larger copy so you can enlarge it if you need to.

Weird, another thing I just noticed, the sending unit plug on my tank only has 2 wires in it not four like your diagram shows.

Just came out to the car to try abd figure out the wiring and realized my plug has 2 yellow/blue wires and 2 of the thin black wires. Everything else I'm assuming is not used. I'm pretty lost with this also, my spyder didn't come with abs and the rear end I used didn't have it either.

If anyone could help I would appreciate it.

trace the wires to the abs sensors, set them to the side and you'll be left with the correct wires for the fuel pump and sending unit

Edit: NVM i just saw the ca didnt have abs. I assume the rest of the wires have to do with he roof top.

you should trace the wires to the FWD pump and sending unit and trace back to the plug

yeah I fixed my post

I know the two thick wires that sit on top of your finger are for the fuel pump.

After comparing wiring diagrams it looks like the 96-97 Spyder doesn't share the same connector as the late 98-99 Spyders due to the emissions getting moved to the fuel tank. If you'd like I can create another diagram for you?

I would very much appreciate that Cory!

So I've been talking to a member on the link forum, I started a thread over there and a very nice member named Savo has been helping me, he's done multiple Awd swaps on spyders and I'm sure his method works great. My question to all of you is, why couldn't I just wire the fuel pump and sending unit wires with this diagram

He's already showed me the exact wires I need from my gst connector which are these

I don't see a reason this wouldn't work but someone else might. Please chime in with your opinions.

i am about to buy a ridiculously clan auto 95 tsi fwd rolling chassis to swap my twice wrecked and pimer auto 95 tsi awd into. i will have both cars side by side so i shouldn't need to buy any parts. my question is, what is the most difficult part? looks to be just mounting the awd rear subframe and drive line carrier bearing to the fwd chassis. is there anything else that needs special attention or time on? all the wiring looks simple enough
