Any in house made intakes?

I have been looking for a hard pipe air intake to go with my k&n filter for quite some time now. I see these big name brands, dejon, injen, etc. But with the big brands comes a big price tag. So I was wondering if there was anyone on this website that you guys know of, that make their own intakes. Money is tight, and the only guy I have found that makes them, no longer does. Let me know what you guys know.

Thanks in advance :D

Ebay 2g intake pipe..The 1g pipe is not made anymore, unless it's dejon or whatever costing 1,000,000 dollars.

So 2g ebay intake pipe, 2g maf, filter, call it a day.You can do the whole thing for less than 100.

What size intake are you looking for?

Sizes vary by turbo and MAS placement, but 4" is by far the easiest to build on your own.

go to silicolnintakes and buy a 45 coupler of your choosing and a 45 pipe then a filter thats the easiest way to do it, and will only set you back 20 bucks, then if you want the tube for the bov recalculation get one welded in for no more than 15

That means ebay..But I dont think they ever made them for 1g(silicon intakes). But i'm probably wrong.

They also went up to about 60$ this year.

Pick up a couple 4" aluminum mandrel bends, some scrap 1/8" aluminum plate, find someone that can TIG weld.... and roll your own. ;)

What about cheap/DIY 4" intakes that will fit the 2g MAF oval outlet? I'd love to know an alternative to the $160 FP intake.

Holy crap. Is that what they are getting for them now?

Apparently, I need to expand my product line. :)

Dude. Seriously. Please start making intake pipes. We need someone who won't overcharge for them to set the market back in the right direction. Cost for an intake pipe seem so much more than what the material costs should be...

With your craftsmanship added in they would probably flow better than all the other ones out there too! haha.

I am stilling wanting to run the stock 1g maf.
Why? 2g maf flows much better, its an upgrade for sure. Theres a reason why you see a million 1g guys on this site running the 2g maf. it should be pretty early in the upgrade path, imo. For the same reason that everyone and their mother runs the 2g maf, is most likely the same reason why there aren't any aftermarket pipes for it anymore. I got your pm btw, i can't help you with that intake pipe because I would have nothing to mock it up on, I don't know anyone running the stock 1g maf. I know about 4 guys in my town with 1g's, and 2 have 2g maf, 1 has gm maf, 1 has SD. Go figure. Sorry I couldn't help you.

Well, $80 for the pipe and another $80 for the recirculation fitting (as if anybody would want a 2g MAF compatible intake without the fitting).

It's pretty ridiculous. For that price I could almost get a 3" GM MAF and an adapter from ECM Tuning. Then I could VTA and throw any old 4" pipe and filter on the turbo.

^ You would definitely want a tune, but it's not absolutely necessary. You just need 550cc injectors to offset the lower airflow count reported by the 2g MAF.
