I'm gonna order a triple pillar soon meaning i have 2 more gauges to pick out. I already have a prosport boost gauge so i need 2 others to decide on. I'm thinking of A/F ratio and oil pressure. What would you recommend?
Also, is it true you can wire the A/F to the ecu to read and not the o2 sensor? And with the oil pressure where do you tap the t fitting?
Thanks everyone, :dsm:

You want a wideband (Innovate MXTL) an oil pressure gauge wouldn't be bad either.

The only 2 you really need are the wideband and boost gauge.

You need a wideband air/fuel gauge not just a normal narrow band. Check out the AEM uego. Most widebands are plug and play and come with the gauge, harness and sensor.

Oil pressure would definitely be the next best gauge to fill the hole, get a prosport so it matches your boost gauge. As to where to tap in, I have an electronic gauge and have t'eed into where the factory oil pressure sender is.

I know this is gonna sound pretty rookie, but the only advantage of wideband is that you can get a reading off of it to tune with right? If im not looking into tuning this year is it still worth it?

Wideband is not only used to tune but to monitor. It will show you weather or not you are running lean or too rich under boost, which could be the reason you blow up the engine.. Wideband is a gauge you would want, just like boost.

A regular narrow band air/fuel gauge you are thinking of getting is not good for anything but a light show..

Widebands come around the same price its a investment, that you will have for as long as you own your car and are tuning it for safe boost. Check on vendors and classifieds for some there are plenty of them out there.

Like stated, you want a wideband not a narrowband. Narrowband is a useless gauge and is not worth installing/buying.

I also recommend the MTX-L, used it in both the 1g and 2g with great results.

If you consider using ecmlink a lc-1 will work great with it since you will need a wb anyway.

MTX-L > LC-1. It's the new version of the LC-1 essentially, but much better and has an integrated control box rather than the bulky nasty box the LC-1 has.

Sence you want 3 just run a boost gauge, wideband, and oil pressure. Of course there are many other options like water temp, egt, and trans temp if you had a auto trans.

I have wideband, boost, water temp, & oil pressure. All AEM digital gauges.

Now that I have them and I'm able to monitor the above listed... I dont think I could go without one of them, LOL.

I just moniter my system with dsmlink. I was able to make some applications to run with link that I can moniter everything by check engine light by different pulses to know what one eatch thing is. So like if water temp is too hot it will blink twice every few seconds to indicate if its above 220, and like oil pressure to low will blink like 3 times, etc etc.

Thanks for all the input guys, ill go with a wideband. Just eondering though, do you throw a CEL when having the wideband plug in or are you able to connect an output to the ecu or something?

Well i mean like, if you have the wideband in place of the 1st o2 sensor on the stock ecu, wont it throw a CEL because it doesnt read the o2 sensor anymore?

You don't have to get a wideband gauge. I've never used one. If you don't want to clutter up your interior with more gauges, just buy a wideband controller. All widebands controllers come with logging software or you can log with your engine management. You only need to look at your afr's while tuning. They are not going to magically change while driving down the road. The new innovate lc-1 inline controller is nice. As for the gauges, fuel pressure is a real important one to actually have in your face i think. If you don't have accurate factory oil pressure, i would do boost, oil and fuel pressure.

You can connect an LC-1 as a narrowband to the OEM o2, and to terminal 15 as a wideband to log. If you get yourself a logger or link, you should be able to read the wideband so long as your logging. I dont think you really must have a wideband gauge, but if you really want one I guess it could go in. Personally I would run a boost gauge, oil pressure, and engine temp or voltage.
