AEM Wideband A/F?

I currently have a "GlowShift" A/F ratio gauge... do i still need to get an AEM Wideband? and if so what is the upside to getting this wideband? i understand that it displays the A/F ratio, but it being wideband?
 
Your is more than likely an narrow band. Not so great for tuning. Just a light show pretty much. Stap your game up to AEM!
 
Is your glowshift a narrowband or wideband? If it's a narrowband it's completely useless other than as a nice light show. The wideband is what will actually benefit you in both tuning, and monitoring your car.
 
No one really answered the second part of your question, so here:
Narrowband O2 shows Lean or Rich, in simple 1 or 0 (on or off) terms.
Wideband O2 shows actual Air:Fuel Ratio.
 
Go with a wideband definitely. The narrowband gauges are garbage. Also you can run your wideband into your ecu and use it with dsmlink, aem ems, etc.
 
Def. go with the wideband as long as you have something to tune with (can't be put into the stock ecu unless it has narrowband output capability). Like stated before the Narrowband can only show you a small range (0-1v) as compared to a wideband that can show you a range of 0-5volts which give you much better resolution and a much more accruate picture of your real AFR reading.
 
Agreed. Go with a Wideband! Even if you don't have anyhting to tune with yet, it will show you how the car is running and give you a better idea earlier on if something is wrong.

This isn't exactly accurate.

A narrowband o2 sensor has a 0-1v range and to some extent you can get an idea of what your AFR's are by looking at the voltage of a front o2 sensor, a higher voltage is a richer mix and vise-versa. A narrowband gauge itself doesn't display an AFR or the voltage of the o2 sensor, it simply scans back and forth using the o2 sensor voltage to drive it. Its not a simple "1-0" because there is a voltage change as AFR changes, just not something you should rely on to tune with.

A WB o2 sensor is a 0-5v sensor, this gives you A LOT more resolution as to what your AFR actually is and displays it on the gauge.
