Can't believe we didn't see this build thread sooner! Giving some old school magazine vibes with the great story behind everything and fantastic photos.

Was great meeting you and letting us be a part of your build!

Was good to meet you as well. Hopefully my build will do your parts justice. Thanks again for doing a kick ass job.

So, seeing as the rear 330mm TCE rear big brake kit would be the same size as the Stillen kit up front, I have realized that I was in need of an upgrade. I reached out to none other than Bobby G and he put together this kick ass 360mm 6 piston brake kit for me. I will attempt to fit it behind the TE37s but I'll have to dig out the knuckles out of storage later.

Glad they arrived all ok and you like the kit. Thanks again for the support of me and my products also. Send me some installed pics when to get to it please.

Are you changing your entire setup or keeping that early 2000s vibe. I love the stock looks but call me a ricer that 2000s tuner look is starting to grow on me as time goes on. I love the build very very clean and proper whichever way you go.

Pretty much everything is being replaced. I don't like the route I took with the interior/exterior back in the 90s and early 2000s. I kinda wish I simply did a 2gb swap and kept the interior less colorful. 😆 I guess it turned some heads so it wasn't all bad and was fairly quick. The current plan is to use the OEM 2gb body and add some carbon fiber. Same with the interior; lots of carbon fiber, new seats or maybe reupholster the old Sparcos, etc.

So things have kind of slowed down a bit as other things take a precedence over this hobby. Work sucks and money doesn't go as far as it used to. Needed to get away so myself and some friends took a much needed break to do some fishing in a remote fly-in camp in Canada.

Damn, I wish I could bottle that experience and have a sip of it every time I need to get away. Back to reality though and it's not all bad; my PPG box, T-Case and rear differential are ready for pickup courtesy of none other than Tim Z.

Time for another road trip.🙂

Took a trip out to TMZ. It was a perfect day. Hung out a little and threw my stuff in the back of the car. Such a wealth of knowledge Tim is. Of course caught the beginning of rush hour on the way back but eventually got home safely. Unpacked the car and managed to wrestle the transmission onto the bench. PPG 1-4, EVO3 5th. Quaife front differential, 4 spider center. The transfer case received some upgrades as well: Boostin mid housing, 300m treatment, etc. The rear dif was a non LSD converted with a brand new OEM LSD I acquired from a member here. Replaced the bearing caps with FF pieces and finished off with an old school FF cover.

So a while ago I was looking for the perfect set of straight cut oil pump gears. In doing so I ordered a new set from RTM which consisted of the small OEM gear and the large Total Source gear. Upon receiving the gears I began to question the quality of the Total Source gear even though RTM allegedly compared it to an OEM piece and it was "identical". The finish wasn't very good just by looking at it so I should've returned it immediately. Until now I wasn't able to get a direct comparison between OEM and Total Source so I recently purchased a used set and last week got lucky when I bought what looks to be a brand new large gear on Facebook. Will the total source gear become an expensive paper weight? Let's find out.

Although some dimensions look pretty good, the RTM gear is not "identical" and I think it would be very risky putting it in the case. The face finish looks, for the lack of a better word, unfinished and rough. It would be interesting to get some testing done on the material and hardness but I feel that I've spent enough money on this experiment.

I haven’t heard of Total Source. Are they a company trying to make reproductions?
Allegedly that's the company that made the copies which RTM sold. I believe initially RTM believed they were getting OEM gears but got these instead. I should've returned it as it's pretty clear to me now that it's not up to spec.

Man that screen is huge and the backing mount barely has room for it. How comes you went 2500 vs an S2 or 3?
I'm getting old brother so I need a big screen so I can see things better. Yeah I bought the 2500 last year and the S2 is fairly new. Damn you Bobby, I hate buying things twice. Now, who wants a brand new Haltech 2500? 😆

I sold my 1500 a while back and saved some more and got the S2 on black friday. S3 was more for no real gain. Im got the normal dash a while back also. Not ready for the swap but needed to have it ready and on the shelf.

So I've been looking for a nice split thrust 7 bolt block for a while now. Most leads until now got me nowhere which was frustrating but now I'm kinda glad the way it played out to be honest. Last week this unicorn, new old stock 7bolt popped up on Facebook and I had to have it. The seller agreed to ship it and did a fantastic job packing it for the trip. Now that it's here I'll have to figure out the piston situation and go from there.
