I have a 95 block. I ordered a crankshaft from Howell (never do that btw) and they sent me 96+ bearings. I know I saw somewhere once how to make the 96 bearings fit in a 95 but I can't find that how-to anywhere.

My question, is it as simple as dremeling grooves that match the notch location on the bearings? Or is there something else that has to be done? Thanks!

No slight intended towards you, but why do people continue to order from those jackasses? There are hundreds of poor reviews regarding this vendor.

All that you need to do is notch to accept the bearings. If you want, you can order 95 model bearings from the dealer.

Or here: VIN 'Y' and 'C' 2.0 Chrysler Main Bearings Set ('95 ONLY)Avenger, Breeze, Eclipse, Neon, Sebring, Stratus, Talon There are alternatives, just search for them.

I did a quick search on Tuners and it didn't seem like anyone had issues with them...So I ordered. Then I saw the thread on 2gnt and how much of a nightmare it is to deal with them. Immediate regret.

But thanks for the links, I've got all the info I need now.

Why cant you send them back and get what fits?

Because they will probably never send me the right ones. If they do, it will take another 6 weeks.

Simplest solution is to just cut the block to accept the 96+ bearings, or you can order a second set of 96+ bearings, then you'll have enough.
