I hate when updates are far and few between but we suddenly been so busy that when i get home my motivation is at a all time low. The 90 transmission has been in but it was notchy and there a few factors. I remade most of the plastic bushings by 3d printing them. I also adjusted the cables. It still felt off so i eventually swapped to a new slave. But between the air i had stuck in the slave i noticed the master rod was wet so i swapped both to new units. The shifting is finally feeling good again. I also swapped over to silicone radiator and heater core hoses since they were swollen. After swapping i realized a had a nasty air pocket i couldn't bleed. When i had one of my guys weld the spare ports in my housing shut they created empty voids that would normally have a sensor in it. When i took the car to work it would make the gauge peg to the H but my coolant temp sensor never read that high since the check engine light didn't come. I have it set to go off at 216F. I was able to get the light to go off throwing it in neutral and then popping it back into gear that would normally make the air pocket pass. I was looking into making my own thermostat housing when a guy posted on FB about his billet housing he just made. I was sold. I ordered a day after. He is on here but doesn't frequent the board. @Fatboy Fab . He was awesome to deal with and i couldn't be happier.

I can't say enough good things about how happy i am with the housing. It even includes a rear 1/8 npt for a aftermarket coolant temp sensor. I have been driving the car a bunch which makes me more motivated to fix all of the little nuances that annoy me. I finally took the valve cover off and threw on a new gasket and rtv'd the cam cap corners. I did some research on rtv's and i was surprised to see mopar rtv was so good. So that's what i ended up using. I didn't want to change the oil into a billet forward facing i ordered in october came in but i don't like to go over 2k or 4 months on the oil changes especially with it being a fulltime e85 car. I am a little disappointed on these silicone gaskets i bought because my oil pan always looks wet by the gasket. I will re seal the pan with rtv next time i have the time to do so. My friend is going with a cop on his car so he gave me his bracket and spark plug wire cover which i think looks pretty neat.

I also finally fixed a enhuast leak i has from the apexi muffler. I ended up going with a vibrant single tip muffler. I hated the chrome muffler when it was new but it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb now after a few heat cycles. I took before and after DB readings. I dropped almost 10 db from the switch.

I keep forgetting to take pic of things i do. I redid the hangers over as well. I also picked up a new FMIC i just haven't had time to get it mocked up yet but maybe that will be my next update.

Now that i don't have to weld a bung onto my radiator i finally installed a aem coolant gauge i picked up. Now i can see the real time temp. Not that i really care since it's set to go off at 216 but the gauge on the cluster can sometimes be deceiving .I never go over 190 and i hang around 180 which is awesome.

I did have someone make a offer on the car but i declined. I always regret getting rid of my talon that i had for 14 years i don't want to repeat that mistake.

Solid updates, man! Thats awesome you're back to putting some miles on it again and motivation has picked back up!

Damn, thats a high quality water neck from fatboy!

Way to work through the shifting issues as well. OEM or nothing. Haha.

I messaged a guy on FB about his Galant for sale in VA, but never heard back....typical FB.

Good job, nice to see the progress on your car! 👍💪🤘

Nice to see someone is making this!

Do you have pictures of the inside? Or can you comment on whether he retained the (for less of a better word) “baffling” on the inside?

Thanks man. Yeah the housing is solid. It's a shame you couldn't snag up that vr4. I have a local that is selling his. If none of my friends buy it i can forward you his info before he throws it on FB

I don't but i can take some since i have a friend that will be getting one for his Galant as well. There is no baffling .

So i've just been in a waiting stage for parts and I finally got a few in this past week. This is the new billet forward facing housing from evospec for a 6 bolt. It's nice to see some love for 6 bolts since the 7 bolt guys have a lot more options.

I still haven't heard anything about my transmission since january :idontknow: . I'm not sure if my patience is getting better or worse but i try to be understanding. I really wanted to do some bigger brakes and i was close to pulling the trigger on new wheels and brakes but i chose to hold of for a few since my biggest pet peeve currently with the car is the sloppy shifter. The shifter has new bushings and still feels meh. I was looking for other options but 3d printed bushings are meh. I could make them myself if that's the route i chose but i wanted some machined bushing. I started hearing the long lead times with dudes customs and the no replies i got from him online which turned me off as well from doing any business with him. I could machine them myself but if i'm taking the shifter off i want to just replace it with something newer. So i ended up getting a kdn shifter. I got 80% done with it today tomorrow i'll finish with the interior and trimming the center console.

I also finally got some time to start a project i wanted to do a few years ago but every time i was close to starting something came up. I started getting the machining done for the o-ring to make some SS waterpipe for me and a few locals.

I did pick up new outlander rotor from a member on here so now i just need to choose some brake pads to go with them. I was leaning towards hawk hps or ebc red but i need to do more research to see what would be better for me. When having some fun with the car it's a little sketch trying to get it to stop in a decent time LOL.
