Hello everyone, quick intro.

This is my 1991 Galant VR4, I'm in cali, I'm planning on transferring to SJSU for industrial design. I got this car from Texas from my aunts ex-husband, around my HS freshman year summer, and then it sat for a while since I'm a lazy ugly chud and I had little to no mechanical knowledge. Until I decided to finally get busy during my junior year of HS and brought some friends from my HS autoshop to help out with the car.

We got it running and ripped it around town, but it wasn't running properly, such as not being able to idle, no air filter, was running on 89 (because we were stupid), battery died in like 2 minutes, some electrical stuff, blah blah. We did our best to do it ourselves but we were limited by our pea sized highschool brains. So end of the school year I took the Galant to @tedspec who we are very grateful to have had helped us out, and he held it for a while fixing stuff that was out of our skill level.

After many hours of doomscrolling forums, we got the car back and the hype was high and the skills had been improved. We also decided the rename the Galant to Gword, no reason at all. Ted had found out there was a hole in the head in one of the stud holes, so we obtained a 2g head with Evo springs and swapped all stuff from the 1g head. slapped the 2g head back on after putting in ARP studs, new belts, new hardware, forgot the a/c belt (FUH). The HRC 20g had shaft play so we sent it into @justinwhitesell, who fixed it right up. The car had loose shifter so we are in process of swapping bushings and such. We also found out the axle boot had torn so we just replaced that this weekend, and while we were at it we decided to paint exhaust components with high temp rattlecan paint.

There is still lots to do like figure out this battery situation where it's a little close to the firewall so we are making the BOV not circulate to the atmosphere and just make it 100% recirculating so we can push the battery back a few mm and it wont be so close to the wall.

We still have to Replug everything back in, figure out where stuff goes, oil lines, coolant lines, maintenence (brakes, tires, fluids). I'm hoping my GF lets me have time to work on this thing LOL, so I can get it done before the summer starts.

Sorry that this is typed out horribly but I am typing it like 2 mins before class. I'll try to update frequently to my best ability but decently busy with school and training for xc and track and stuff.

I want to hear more about this hole in the head. Doesn't make sense.
The previous owner i guess tried to do a stud extraction and ended up hitting an oil galley. Not really a “hole” but more like a nick that causes a leak
