7 blade HX40

Need a few questions answered. It concerns running a 7 blade hx40.
Assuming I can run the divided t3 turbine housing, and run a revshift t3 twin scroll manifold how would spool up characteristics be?
This would be on a 2 liter with 272's and a magnus race smim.

Which divided T3 turbine hsing? Most will give u full spool by 4k rpm,s with that setup. Results are posted like crazee in Holset FAQ's.

Just expect roughly 500rpm quicker spool by going twin scroll. IMO unless younger tryin to get everything out of the turbo then a bolt on housing will work just fine for you as it's quicker spool over the non divided t3 housing.

Also use the search button as there is a ton of I formation available about the Holset and all of it's housing variations to be used.

Some have posted even up to 1k rpm's faster going TS.

I have been using the search feature. Problem is the Holset thread is so big it is hard to find exactly what you are looking for.

I have heard from some very trust worthy people that when they switched to twin scroll that the gains weren't that noticable. I will have some solid proof of the hx40 in a 17cm^2 twinscrolll manifold soon enough to compare to the .55ar housing that I had previously on the car. It is pretty costly to make the switch to a quality manifold to take advantage of the twin scroll technology. Unfortuantely we don't have any SOLID proof of someone switch manifolds to compare.

I was personally going to go with revshifts T3 twinscroll manifold. At 799 its the cheapest and revshift is top quality.

How r the wastegates setup? That does not look like a tru twinscroll mani to me!

It depends on the size of the turbine hsings your friends used as usual. Could you post some examples of the ones u and your friends discussed? I 've heard quite the opposite especially from alot of guys on Evolutionm.net I'm pretty excited to hear about your build. And remeber that small bolt on hsing will spool fast.

It's supposed to be built on the exh runners towards the flange where the runners all meet and the exh leaves. Better off buying one with the dual ports and dual wastegate flanges built on it already. See ETS,JHR,GVauto,etc for that.

So it look's like one of the better options is to run the punishment manifold.

Here is my question and forgive me but like I said the holset thread is so large that info is hard to find.

The 7 blade hx-40 aka Super40. How many different size turbine housing's did the 7 blade come in? Was wondering if it's better to use the stock holset T3 housing or just get the Bullseye T3 housing?

Well the bullseye housing is the bolt on one right? So you won't be using a twin scroll manifold. If you want to get the most out of your hx40 then twinscroll is the way to go. I believe you would want the 17cm/\2 stock housing. I think there is also a 16 and a 19 cm one. The 19 will be laggier without much gain, and I am unsure if the 16 can flow enough, you'll have to do research on that one.

Exactly what I am trying to figure out. To go twin scroll I will have to use the stock housing. Going to send the seller a PM and see if I can find out what turbine housing it has.

I am local to REVSHIFT and he does great work. I had him make my twin scroll T4 merge collector and I am building the rest. Quality equipment and some nice welds. Are those 17cm housings T4 and non gated?
