I dont think i saw anyone mention an s-afc being better than a burned eprom chip? And a smaller injector isnt 'NEEDED' for racegas, you can just get away with smaller injectors on racegas which i think you meant but.

Hey guys, the reason Im hesitant about going bigger is because in my previous setup I had 650cc injectors on my 50 trim and I would run really rich. At the time I didnt have the dsmlink, I had the SAFC2. Also, I do plan on running race gas so would 750's still be reccommended? Later.

So on pump gas yall suggest bigger injectors than 750 I am running dsmlink! Since supposely you get more knock out of pump than race correct? WHich ill also be a pumpgas whore myself.

That's correct L. A chip compensates in a way that the correct map is used, the one 450's would use. Another thong I had done to the chip was have the map extended so it would run lower than 15* under WOT. As keydiver stated if you add fuel so you don't knock with pump to not knock under high RPM WOT conditions you lose power so it's better to lose a litle timing. Check out what he does and why. www.dsmchips.com. Gimme I hope I DON'T have to upgrade my injectors. I've spent enough money. Yeah I should not have said a 60 trim flows 60 lbs, I aplogise for that. We are talking 60-1's here. Any of the high figures you were speaking of had race gas, yes? I will have some 112 available buit at $6. a gallon I won't be rnning it exclusively. An EVO 16G can easily max 550's. I've done that. Also IDC should be kept in the mid 80's if you want some life from the injectors. 650's are the injector of choice of 50 trim owners flowing 49/50 lbs/min. I will run a poll and let the comunity deceide. mark
PS: By the way I would be driving if there was not 3-4ft. of snow here in Central, N.Y. I will run the 650's and report the results when the road conditions are acceptale.

Thatsa very understandable statement sweet97 it helped me decide to stay wiht my 650's for the time being until i need ot upgrade! As you said max out what you have and then upgrade
thanks

That sounds like a plan! :thumb:

I never mean to come off like a dick, but i just get tired of the all the geniuses with vast tuning knowledge that have not been faster than 13s.

Again, it all boils down to what ones' goals are.

I don't have vast tuning experience. I do have most of the tools and will give the 650's the best I have. I hope they work well and I don't have to upgrade so I will not have to spend a lot of cash. I haven't had the car a year ad I've had an EVO, 50 trim and now the RS60T!! Mark

Ben from AGP turbo says injector size depends on one's HP goal. he says 650's are good for 400-450HP.He recommended 720's for the 60-1. mark

You forgot to include Ben's professional opinion that 720's would be his recommendation for the turbo. Jeff(Keydiver) said to go with 720's if denso's and 750's if any other brand inj.
I can't speak for you gimme or anyone else but I want the most I can get out of all of my mods. Mark

I went internal. I had the same Bullseye turbine on my RS49 and had no trouble. I do have a ported EVO3 02 housing. If I have to I will go with an 02 dump. Mark

Sweet, just curious, my RS60T has the wastegate arm pointed UP. Wastegate rod is short and straight, with the actuator on an S-bracket. I assume it's to be mounted hotside...seems different than the other bullseye housing hybrids. Yours come that way too?

Thar's the AGP actuator. My RS49 had the same. It mounts on the 02 housing, the bolt nearest to the flapper arm with the actuator away from the turbine. I recommend you slot the hole in the s-bracket so you can get the bolt hole closer to the bend in the bracket, otherwise the actuator arm will be on an angle, too much of an angle for my liking. Just mounted mine late yesterday, the actuator that is. I dealt with the angle on the RS49 but eventually it seemed to bend the flapper arm/pin assembly and the clip broke off quickly but a thick paperclip fixed that! Please email me when you have yours up and running as here near Syracuse I have about 6 weeks to go before the roads wll be clear of snow, salt and cinders! Mark
PS: What cc injectors are you using? I will try to max the 650's and then go to either a 720 denso or some 750 with my chip burned to compensate.

Keydiver (Jeff) is reburning a chip for me. I just got 1000cc RC injectors at a great price otherwise I probably would've just got 850/880's at their typically low price these days. My only concern is whatever deadtime compensation Jeff programs into the chip I hope is close enough that I'm not screwing with fuel trim tuning endlessly.

If I already had 650's (I had 550's and one was bad-found out the hard way) I would just crank up the AFPR. If that didn't work too well, THEN I'd upgrade. If you do the usual calculations either quickly by hand (60-1 is 60lb/min = 3600 lb/hr-Air divided by 10:1 AF-gives 360 lb/hr-Fuel divided by 4 injectors is 90 lb/hr-Fuel per injector which is about a 900cc/min injector or less since the target AF is actually higher than 10:1, and really, are most of us really going to get close to maxing out the 60-1?. There's also one of many slightly more thorough online calculators which pretty much says the same thing: the 60-1 needs something in the 800cc range "IF" it were flowing enough air for 600 crank hp.

My keydiver from Jeff is in the mail, burned for the 650's and 45PSI. I have a MAF-t, AFPR. I will see what I ca get with the 650's. Of course there are other limiting factors I have such as the FMIC. It's a Spearco 2-221. It's fairly small but guys have gone 10's with it and 12's would be fine with me. I do have a cold air intake with my K&N in the space the side mountwas so that should keep the charge air a bit cooler and header wrap for the upper short route piping. barring a breakdownthis should be the last Turbo, it's my 3rd in less than a year!! I have heard the 60-1 wheel flows a lot of air at low PSI, from David of Bullseye Power. Mark

If youd be happy with a 12 you chose the wrong turbo LOL. You better be looking for ridiculously low 11's at least =P

ROFL

Why on earth then, did you buy 1000cc injectors?!

BTW, 800cc injectors are NOT needed for 600 crank hp. Did you not see the post in THIS thread where Mike Rizzotti made 494 awhp on 650cc injectors? do you think he was making 600 CRANK hp? I sure do. If not, he is REAL close...

Wow...

Are you laughing "with" me or "at" me?!

You quoted me out of context by not including, "If I already had 650's (I had 550's and one was bad-found out the hard way) I would just crank up the AFPR. If that didn't work too well, THEN I'd upgrade."

The 1000's were at a great price. Others run 950+ injectors successfully. Jeff (Keydiver) reburns previously purchased chips for only $20, there's no reason to be "scared" of big injectors in this day and age.

Rizotti's 500 AWHP....wow, now that's why I bought a 60-1!

....actually I bought the 60-1 to beat a certain 95 Mustang:thumbdown and 69 Camaro :thumb:, they are sooooo going down...

Wow...

I dont see your point. I have ran 850's on my 60-1 and hit high 90% IDC on 28psi of 93 octane and went to 980's now (on a t66). Your entire thought of "ow this guy did this, this guy did that" hec my friend turned a 12.9 in his 2g w/16g and BONE STOCK FUEL SYSTEM...... guess what happened 2 weeks later......BOOM. If they have the tuning method get bigger then you think. YOU WILL ALWAYS GO BIGGER. I thought the 60-1 was big. I am now on a T66bb and have gone through 3 sets of injectors. That was money down the drain (cant sell used injectors for much).
ps.-all tuned by dsmlink.-and a chip/dsmlink is not like a afc. it changes the injector pulse time. Dont throw out information you do not know about. An afc could NEVER get a car to idle 850's anywhere near stock, but dsmlink and keydrivers can.....guess they are the exact same

Wrong. Buschur and crew (tym switzer) ran 10 seconds with 550cc injectors.

Yea your right....I belive. They had AEM and 550's in their fuel rail, And ......550's in the SECOND fuel rail too!

matt

Matt/95AWD you were were able to tne for 28PSI on pump? care to share? tuning info. What a/f did you have to run for that and ...you don't get a knock sum on a 2g, huh? What about timing, base and at WOT? I'm going to tune with the 650's and then go to something bigger but not sure what yet. I was thinking 720/750cc. Mark
