I'll be getting the AGP RS60T soon. What are you guys who are running one using for supporting mods? Thanks, Mark

:dsm: ......expect a bunch of flames from that question like.... if u need to ask..... this turbo is not from you  ....but id be glad to try and help...i recently purchased the pte scm61....its not on yet..but ive done tons of reading on what id need....680cc injectors or bigger, safc, dsmlink, aem etc....keydriver chip with injec compensation would def work to...(what im using along with safc and fpr)...some kind of headwork..esp cams....smim would also be great to take control of ur upper rpm's.....built bottom end would also help....but as weve all heard people have put down sikkkk numbers on stock blocks...551whp on a stock 7 bolt is the most ive seen...but fuel is pretty much what ur gonna need to maximize ur turbo and some kind of tuning software...but i dont know everything....im sure someone else will chime in..... :dsm: :thumb:

I dont even have all the supporting mods to support this turbo you will need a built motor, cams, and a FPR. I still got a long ways to go

Maybe you guys are mixing up supporting and maxing. As long as your car does not blow up (or in some way damage something) that's enough to support the turbo. All you need to support it are properly sized injectors, fuel pump, an upgraded IC, and some way to tune the a/f ratio. These are needed to safely run it. Cams, engine work, bigger exhaust, etc. all just make more power. Of course if someone were to go with a big turbo, it'd make sense to commit as much to the rest of the mods as well. I basically wanted to say not everything listed in the other posts are required, but many are logical upgrades when going with a "big" turbo.

Awesome turbo choice, the 60-1 is a great wheel. Shoot me an email if you have any questions or need direction in the supporting mod choices.

Posed the question poorly. Here's what I have:
660c inj's
MAF-Translator
Spearco 2-221-short upper pipe
Walbro 255
AFPR
currently a 2.5" ss exhaust but making plans for a 3" turbo back
wideband
EGT
Scanmaster

I guess what I really want to know is how far the 660's and the 2.5" exhaust will take me. 3" exhaust is in the works as I found one for $645 turbo back.
I have a '93AWD Talon.
I have a 6 bolt that was a running motor with 86k miles on the clock torn down awaitinga rebuild. Would like to go 2.3 stroker but prices are sky high from what i have seen. looking for 20 psi on what I have. Mark

you will hate 2.5 exhaust

do yourself a favor and dont even install the turbo until you have 3" exhaust. it would be even better if you had a 3" 02 housing. i fabbed a 3" 02 housing for myself and it totally unchoked the turbo. it spools almost as well as my green. it gets full boost (25+ psi) at around 4100 rpm. the green would hit around 3800.

the difference in exhaust flow of the 60-1 (stage III .63 4 bolt housing) versus the green though are huge. the 300 rpm lag difference is well worth it. the top end flow of the 60-1 is just rediculous.

to be honest, the 60-1 is much faster on my car with pump gas than the green was (50 trim). not many will want to hear that, but that has been my personal experience.

slap anyone who says the 60-1 is no good.

you can see pics of my setup in my gallery.

you seem to have all the "supporting mods" you need. In order to get the most out of the turbo you'll have to go with a 3" O2 housing and downpipe / catback. If you want to save some money just get the O2 housing and downpipe and put a cutout before the point where it goes down the 2.5". It's not the best way to take care of it but you will gain power and the catback can always be upgraded later. I have a 3" cutout on my car and LOVE it. You see a cop you close it, if you want to open up the exhaust you open it all with a push of a button.

Mark, why does it seem like every time you upgrade something, you order the mod THEN ask how to use it? LOL :) :)

You guys are my contact with the outside world!! Scarry huh?
Well being disabled I have a lot of time in front of the TV. I use web TV for web access! I know that the 60-1 flows very well at low psi. What really concerns me with this new turbo i how far I can take it with the 660's. I know what's neeed, just might hear something I don't know.
I've had the 2.5" exhaust since the EVO3. I am getting a 3" turbo back once paypal depositd their .02 into my account so I can end payment for the system.
I have a ported EVO3 02 housing.not good enough?

I'm having ANCONOVER build me a 3" turbo back. It will have a 4'x22" resonator in the "B" pipe and I will be using a Magnaflow SS 5"x8"x18" body muffler, straight thru but the volume will quiet the car. Double the averge age of DSM owners and you have my age, too loud for a guy my age! COL, that's crying out loud!
he 60-1 i a efficient wheel at low psi also. I know a guy, my mentor from when I ran a Conquest, who runs a 60-1. He makes power at 12 psi but he does have a 2.6 but the 2.0 gets up to higher rpm's quicker so I should be fine. I'm building the ultimate interstate cruiser.
I've got a TRE spec tranny wih a 10% taller 5th gear.
One mod I did not mention is I have a true cold Air Intake with my K&N sitting in the space the stock sidemount once was. The turbo will be compressing MUCH coole air so it should expell coole air thus helping the free flowing Spearco that is not the most efficient FMIC. I am selling the Buschur 2.5" turbo back withtest pipe, fully flanged system including a muffler for only $400. If anyone` knows anyone with a 16g let them know. I can't place a classified ad here at tuners, to ignorant! Mark

I have the GT13(60-1), 1mm oversize valves, some head porting, Hks 272/272, hks valve springs, 750s, dsmlink, +++++ :)

Paul a local has the 272's and they are too rattlle for me, not like a V8 lope at all. I will go with 1 step over stock, maybe the Crower stage 1. When you say 1mm os valves are you talking the intakes? How much boost have you run with your setup? I have a 6 bolt that I am rebuilding and would go 2.3 but that is quite expensive so i willput the extra into the head. I like the look of Taboo's headwork but he does not want business and always has trouble of a personal nature that does not allow him to return emails. Any recomendations for headwork? Not wide open porting for top end onlu but an all around port? Mark

Imo.. Magnus 2g intake manifold, 272/272 cams, 3inch turboback exhaust, dsmlink, 650cc, fmic, etc.. What do you guys think with these mods and this turbo in the 1/4 mile. Also is a internal wastegate alright?

Nothing against SBR but i dont think they do theyre own port work... And if they do i doubt they have the flowbench like FFWD etc. But I dont think your really looking for an all out head port if you did it anyways. All you really need done is to clean up the stock casting, maybe play with the short radius of the intake side. Youll see the most gains from just that.

I can get ahold of taboo for you if you wanted, hes been backed up because of health issues and hes getting back into the swing of things now. If you plan on going with a less agressive cam setup than straight 272's i wouldnt worry too much about getting wild on a built head really. If your interested in an intake manifold, id suggest a JMfabrications manifold. I had jim make me one, excellent quality. Very nice manifold.

If your not looking to go all out and try to see the max of the 60-1, then theyres some things you can skimp out on to save cash without being too much of a big deal. For what your looking for i think a 2.5" o2 dump with 3" turboback would be enough for exhaust, i think you dont need too much head work done, mabe a cleanup of the stock casting, oversized valves or just SS valves are up to you etc. I wouldnt go any smaller than a 720cc injector. Now youve got to decide how you are going to controll the larger injector. I suggest getting an eprom with a keydiver chip, or just getting dsmlink.

I have a 2g extrude honed intake manifold with 1mm over valves intake/exhauset. I had my car up to 26psi on pump(94) on my old 50 trim. I just got this turbo, so it will be a while before the snow melts and i do some runs.

I just removed my t3t3 60-1 last week. I upgraded to a t66BB. I loved the 60-1, but just got to used to it. I was pushing 25psi on 93 pump daily (7.5:1cr). I had 850's and was hitting mid 90% injector duty constintly. Get dsmlink and some 980's if you want to turn it up!!!!! The top end on the turbo was awsome. waiting to finish my fuel system so I can floor it on T66 to feel that. h

dam lets us know how that feels thats a serious turbo and also dyno numbas if u get it dynoed

Yeah it's a great cmpressor wheel from my research. It flows a lot of air at low boost and of corsem is capable of 30 psi also! I will be limited at first by my 660 inj's and a 109k mile motor. I will have a 3" exhaust.
Walbro 255 and a nice bolt on AFPR so I believe I will get a decent tune and am hoping for 20 PSI on pump. I will have the boost gauge, EGT gauge, wideband A/F meter and the Scanmaster which will give me the 02 voltage along with the knock count. I run a Spearco 2-221 which is a small FMIC, 18.5"x6"x3.5", however it is rated at 1080 CFM @ 1.5 psi drop and Spearco says it is 600+ capable. We'll see as it is a short turbo but it has 57% more coolig tubes than the dejon FMIC I satrted with. I could nly tune for 13 PSI on the street Dejon and when I went for a quick run I got 18 PSI without changing the MBC's setting! The Spearco wil not be a bottle neck!!
I also have a true ColdAirIntake with the K&N sitting where the stock side mount was, That's cool! Sionce I am near Syracuse, N.Y. i have 6-8 weeks to go before I get to drive it. Mark

Sorry to jump in here, but we do all our port work in house as well as the flowbenching ;-).

I Have a SBR GT-13, 272's, PTE 780cc inj, stock HPC coated 1g intake mani, a Keydiver chip, and a POS Fmic and on 24psi. I spun from 40-60mph just mashing the pedal. Also I am AWD so it was pretty crazy slidding sideways on a freeway on ramp and people are just stare its all good. :D

I just got me a SBR cast mani. FP 1g fmic with rolled insides with a .5 psi drop flow 1200+ cfm. And all my exhaust leaks fixed so I should spool 400rpms quicker but I will let you know how it goes. :thumb:

OH and got my motor broke in so now I can run synthetic and my car will run lots better on that so. I will keep you up dated oh I have a STOCK HEAD /w 3 angle valve job.
Who needs a ported head ;)

Nate that is good to hear. I was checking out the different levels of headwork that can be performed. I have a ??. When SBR adds 1mm OS valves is it all four or just the intakes? What would it cost to add that mod to the highest street version you sell, the level V or VI?
I need to get my head done and so far it between SBR and Buschur. It would be great if there was room for all 4 valves! I have found Eagles for $295.(wiredspeed) and I will go with the Wiseco's at $399. from Buschur. JNZtuning sells a complete OEM gasket set for $175. Front cover with oil pump gears, $300. from Buschur. I do not want Top Line. Water pump?? Timing belt kit(no bs)?? balance shaft removeal kit?? Cams will be either Crower stage 1 or HKS 264's as a stock like idle is a must. Not sure what I am missing for this 6 bolt rebuild. The motor was a runner and had 86k on the clock so I am hoping it does not have to be turned. Where can I get specs on crank jornals andcylinder bores? I know 85mm is the stock cylinder size but what is the conversion to inches? Do i multiply by .039 or .03937?
All this is to get the most out of the 60-1 turbo on it's way. Mark

I got my balance shaft "kit" from www.jnztuning.com. Its not actually a kit, but its OEM mitsu parts. It came with the stubby shaft that replaces the rear balance shaft, 2 new bearings for the front balance shaft, and an OEM plug to plug up the hole for the front balance shaft. Also for another 4 bucks, I got a crank spacer that took up the room where the old balance shaft gear was on the crank.

Honestly, I think you should get bigger injectors and tune for 24psi on pump gas. 20psi just doesn't seem to be in the efficiency range of a turbo that large. Might as well have kept that rs49 you sold me ;) :shhh:

I'm going to run 780's on that turbo with keydiver chip. I suggest selling yours and picking up some larger injectors. Turn up the boost and be fast.

"Sweeeeeettt," :thumb: I came to pretty much the same conclusion on the compressor wheel. Using Turbocalculator to plot points on the compressor map, the 60-1 seems a bit better than the T04B H and V-trims in that they're in compressor surge when the 60-1 isn't.

My engine and supporting mods are 2.4 4G64 with 4G63 head. Block is being o-ringed as I write this. Head is ported with 2mm oversize SI valves, crower springs/retainers, Web cams (thinking seriously of FP2's). 880 injectors/MAFT/and my own custom chips. 3inch exhuast, O2 eliminator, PLX wideband, Aeromotive AFPR, 2.5" UICP/LICP's, you know, the u$ual. I plan on running water injection and keeping the boost < 25 psi.... so I can at least drive the friggin' garage queen for more than a couple months before something ELSE happens! LOL

AGP said 2 weeks for my RS60T ...just in time for Tuesday, 6pm, March 29th.... ;)
