So going to build a stroker from a 6 bolt block... planned on using a 7 bolt 4g64 crank (all that I can find anymore in the JYs). Few questions, anyone know general HP limits of these cranks? Does anyone know the deck height of the 4g63 blocks so I can figure out what rods/pistons to use? From what I gather most of the older stroker kits used a stock length rod and shorter compression height piston. Tips would be helpful

There's a ton of different ways to build a stroker but what you can't do is put a 7 bolt crank in a 6 bolt block. The crank and rods have to match the block. 6 bolt stuff goes with a 6 bolt and 7 bolt goes with a 7 bolt.

Most common stroker is the 2.3 which is a 2.0 block with a 100mm stroke crankshaft, 150mm rods, and shorter pistons. You can go to most of the main piston manufactures and they sell stroker pistons so you don't have to do any figuring with your deck height.

Uhhh isn't the 7 bolt the same main journal? If so then just need 7 bolt rods and viola, 7 bolt 4g64 crank in 6 bolt....

Hmmmm thats a problem then.... is this why all the 6 bolt stroker kits have disappeared off the internet? (no 6 bolt 2.4s left in the junkyard)?

Pretty much yes. Lots of stuff have dried up due to partout guys and junkyard owners knowing the value of dsm parts.

Now we’re at a point where the used stuff is all but gone, and there’s no new stuff being made because people wanted to save a dollar and support people who don’t care about our platform instead of just buying new and keeping it in development.

/rant over.

I switched my 2g's engine from 6 bolt to 7 bolt because it was easier to source the parts for 2.3 stroker locally. I found a cheap 7 bolt crank and rods in a local junk yard first. And I tried to look for a 7 bolt block later. I could find a cheap 1g 7 bolt non turbo block.
