2G 4g64 na to turbo

Question is do I have to do had swap with a 4g63 or can the exhaust manifold bolt to the 4g64

4g63 headers fit the sohc 4g64 head just fine.

Am I missing something from those two pictures, or does that intake piece (MAF/Filter) lead to nowhere? Or was it just a mock-up?

Also I don't see much point in turboing a SOHC engine. Might as well pick up a 2G DOHC head and put that on.

I found me a 2g talon with a t25 on it. Do you think that big of a turbo I would run into some problems?
And if I did a head swap to a dohc 4g64 would I need to change any components in that had?

You mean that SMALL of a turbo?

Don't waste your time with the t25, it runs out of breath on the 2.0L and you're planning to run it on a motor with larger displacement, you'll have that thing maxed out at a very low RPM at which point it'll feel like everything just fell flat. Try to pick up a 14b if at all possible, it's a much better choice for that motor. The 4G64 can handle wastegate pressure on a 14b without having to do any upgrades on internals.

And finally, while most people do swap to a DOHC head, it's not completely necessary. While the SOHC clearly can't push as much air, it's not going to cause any issues. If you decide to do the DOHC swap, you do need to make some small modifications to coolant passages on the block, but the 4G63t head will mate up with the block with no issues. This is a very common block/head combo and there are lots of threads on here covering the necessary mods.

I welded two -8 fittings for my catch can and removed the oe oil cap and replaced it with a prowerks 2.75” cap

Good advice lots of combos possible but it comes down to what your going to do with the car.

225-300hp Daily driving best combo on auto: 4g64 stock piston +14b + sohc head. 15 psi Rev to 5500ish

300hp Moderate performance :4g64 stock piston+ 16g + Dohc head. 15 psi-20psi tuned well.

300-400hp High performance : 4g64 + forged pistons/rods or stock 4g63t block +16g 18g 20g, 20+ psi

If your auto your gonna miss the midrange torque swapping out the sohc head. Best bang for the buck with the na spyders is to put on all the stock turbo parts sidemount injectors etc.

My man! Looks fast. Is that vht wrinkle paint on the valve cover? Used it for my 7 bolt oil pan came out so clean.

I used the vht wrinkle paint before but It would peel close to the edges of the bolt holes later down the road. I just gave up and had it powder coated wrinkle black.

I don't remember exactly what was going on when that picture was taken. It was like 2002 when i took it. The guy had bought a star turbo kit for a 420a. Used what i could from it and 4g63 parts for the rest. I guess the picture was taken before all the work was done.
