Hello to all. We recently purchased a 95 Eclipse GST. It was in a non running shape, been sitting since 2015. When we started looking into the car we noticed some things. Car had brand new looking oil. Owned the valve cover and found ARP head studs with the antilock compound still on the bolt heads. That got me looking further. It has Kelford 272 cams. Now I had to pull the oil pan and when we did we found brand new CP pistons with eagle rods. The crank I can't identify and that's what I need help with, trying to figure out if it's a stronger crank.
This engine had been built and was never fired up. It's like someone was building it and then just stored it and forgot about it. We believe it has a 68 mm turbo. We see a manual boost controller under the hood. The injectors are black top Bosch injectors. The car had stand alone engine management but it was removed.
My question is whether or not there is a good way to identify the type of crank. I think we stumbled upon a gold mine. You can visibly tell the engine was purpose built and never ran. Any help or feedback would be great.
We are trying to figure out if it has a stroker crankshaft etc. We have since found that the crank is a 6 bolt crank.
