Well this is kind of weird. Well I just bought this car a few days ago (1997 GST) and was just outside checking out ECMLink on the laptop and watching the data on the car and got out and looked and saw a vacuum line that was off. So I picked up the line it was tied off from the BOV then into the manual boost controller. I put my thumb over the line and then the car died. I ended up just going inside because I had to do something and then came back about an hour later. I hooked the vacuum like to the MBC and went to crank the car over and it started then just idled like crap and wouldn't even react to throttle very well then it just died. I then tried to start it again and it wouldn't turn over. The car tries to crank and then I hear like a surge noise like it's killing the battery kindof but not. Then it tries again and does the same thing. It won't turn over now. I just also noticed when I put the key in the on position I don't hear the fuel pump now??? Did I somehow kill the fuel pump, LOL? I also tried to removal that vacuum line and start and it didn't make a different I figured I would try it.

Welp nothing good has come from my findings. It looks like there is 0 compression in cyl. #4. I pulled the oil pan to find gold bearing shavings in the pan. So it looks like it spun a bearing, this is horrible.
well that was kind of hard to read, but it sounds like your mbc is hooked up wrong. Is it? Also the 2nd thing i can ask is have you checked for boost leaks. Also any line that is randomly hanging, should probably be plugged into something.

A mbc has nothing to do with the car not turning over. Check the battery and cables. You may have a bad battery or alt. To the op when you say it is not turning over what are you trying to say? Like it does nothing or the engine spins but will not start? If the engine is turning over but not starting you have a starting issue.

Well the alternator is almost brand new from what the owner told me. The battery seems to be trying to kick over fine also. I tried to crank it numerous times and it keeps trying so it seems like it is good.

I haven't looked for boost leaks but I drove it all the way home from where I bought it which was like 2 1/2 hours away and it was good. Since then I haven't drove it hard so there shouldn't be any new leaks.

Is the engine turning over or not? It is hard to tell what you are talking about. So it turns over but will not start?

Yes, it sounds like the engine is trying to turn over. That's why I was possibly suspecting fuel. I can hear it try to start every once in awhile when it's cranking but it just won't start.

First off i would hook up link and u can turn on the fuel pump with link. You should hear it running once that is done go look at the afpr with the pump still on and it should read 43.5. If its not starting it has to be a fuel or ignition issue more than likely so u can rule out fuel pretty easy by trying what i said. Let me know. Ps im the guy who sold u the car.
