2G 2g Auto Trans issue?

I have a 99 Eclipse GST, automatic transmission. I have a MAFT setup and 3" GM MAF Sensor.

The other day I was driving and stopped, when I went to drive it again I have a real rough idle and when I go to put it in drive 1st gear is like 5mph and the RPM's climb slow as hell and after it finally shifts out of first it seems to be fine but I don't know what is causing the issue? It was also a HEAVY downpour the day that it messed up.

Any help?

Did you try disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it? I know at least when there is an issue with the AWD auto trans it will go into safe mode and not let you out of second until you reset the computer. It doesn't sound like you are in safe mode but I would give it a try.

Yeah i had that issue once and disconnecting the battery must have reset the ecu ### it was fine after

Not to be a bringer of bad new but my GST did this and it ended up being the Valve Body I had an IPT valve body put it and it took care of the issue. Just an idea
