Hey everyone I have a 95 talon that lost the blinkers about a year ago. So far I’ve replaced the 3 prong relay behind the radio, checked both fuses under dash and in the engine compartment and their good, checked for power at the relay, fuse box and sockets and replaced bulbs. For some reason I’m getting around 50v at the rear sockets? I verified the turn signal switch is working and clean of corrosion along with the hazard switch. I’m not the best at electrical but I’ve checked everything I know to check along with reading on the forums. And help is appreciated because I’m at a loss.. also the blinker relay doesn’t click. Thank you

See that’s the thing i don’t know. I read somewhere on tuners that the eclipse has the 10 pin and the talons had a 3 pin. If I ground my multimeter to the battery set it on 12v and probe the inside contact on the socket the voltage just sky rockets. Also when I probe the 3 pin relay the voltage is way low. It settles around .278 when the blinker switch is on

Are you on the DC scale (not AC)? What do you get on the next higher scale range? Is the engine off? Don't have a battery charger attached? You don't have a voltage inverter somewhere?
Sounds like a bad multimeter then since the the max non-charging battery voltage is 12.6VDC.

Hey how are you doing...I also dont understand how you can be getting that high of voltage on that circuit. 20+ yrs old wire doesn't help the situation could be a brittle wire or a broken wire. Are the blinkers your only issue? Would you be able to check continuity on this circuit? Not sure what multimeter you have. Please keep me updated and I will do everything I can. I have access to shopkey and a few other goodies I could maybe help trace the circuit. I'm getting ready for work now. Thank you for your time, Jason Penny

Perhaps it's different on the 95? Because on my 99 the Turn signal and Hazard flasher unit is a 10 pin unit.

Talons have separate rear blinkers and rear tail lights compared to the Eclipse. The blinker relay is a normal relay like most cars. So it's very simple.

OP, are you sure you are checking the correct blinker wires in the rear? On each side there are 2 bulbs for brakes, one bulb for reverse, and one bulb for blinker. Are you checking power at the bulb socket? There are only 2 wires for each socket. 12V Power and ground.

The only way you could get 50v would be if your car is running and your rectifier in your alternator is shorted and your seeing pulsed dc voltage or ac on your voltmeter, this can quickly kill other electronics in your car though if thats the case, your ecu is on borrowed time, its more likely that your not actually reading 50v, and thats whats important, that your using a good meter and using it properly, start there.

I’ll go tomorrow and double check it was pretty dark when I was messing with it. Also on the relay I’m getting the same voltage of the ground strap and the center pin. (About .3 volts) and I’m not getting any voltage from the 3rd pin. I’m at work but I’ll post the wire colors that are showing voltage.
