Why the hell hasnt FP themselfs giving us some dyno info n shit on this??

Thats another thing that I dont get??????????

I already spoke with them. They said no dyno yet. But they have heard a lot of reviews. Pretty much they said, it spools like a 16g. And it hits hard...

Sounds like an awsome turbo. Fp takes too long to get reviews or hardcore dyno on there stuff.
i havent even seen a dyno on the FP manifolds yet. I guess there too busy making money selling it.

Id be interested to see what this turbo will do at the hands of a reputeable shop with a properly set up car.

If pushed hard with a good setup this turbo imo is probably at the limit of our dsm stock trannies and old parts though LOL but id think it would be a really good all out street turbo for someones daily driver.

Hell, Id upgrade to this turbo as end goal if it were a lot cheaper down the line, for now evo316g will have to due.

Tort's car was a "monster" because it was built with well matched parts and tuned half decently. It has some weight reduction but I'd hardly call it gutted. It was still on a stock engine/head/intake manifold. Anyone could take the same parts and run the same times easily. The car ran it's best numbers at 28psi on VP103 unleaded. On pump at 25-26psi it still pulled damn near as hard. Tort's comment about airflow was simply to cover his ass against bench racing since we have no logs to prove anything one way or another. As many EVO 16g owners have proven, Mitsu wheels can perform WELL beyond their ratings.

Gotta disagree with you on two points. The first being that the car was tuned "half decently". Since you tuned it, i'd have to say it was "well tuned". The second point being that anyone could take the same parts and run the same times easily. The bottom line is we both know the car was driven balls to the wall to produce the times which it did. This is not to say that plenty of others aren't capable of doing the same. I think the term "easily" might not have been the proper word choice here.

The car was on a stock ECU with a VPC, we had no control over timing. You didnt even have a wideband until the last time the car went to the track on the 20g setup. It was well tuned given what we had to work with at the time, but there was alot more in it. As for the second point, someone could easily reproduce the power the car was making. What they do with it at the track is entirely up to their driving skill. Better? Now quit post whoring and get down here and finish your new setup, gramps. :D

Well, where are the dyno numbers??

Were getting 353 WHP/ 328 WTQ. On a Dynapack Dyno. This is at 20 psi, pump gas, PR FMIC and recirc O2 Housing, 750 cc injectors, DSMlink, 2G stock exman, 1G stock intake.

We arent pushing more than 20 psi on this motor due to some blowby issues at higher than 20 PSI (dipstick launching, etc).

Will be replacing stock exman with FP cast exman, IF ONLY FP will bring back the great GB on it...please please FP! Also have AEM water injection kit to install. Want to get 400+ WHP out of this motor, should be doing it with current mods and boost...

Come on FP, throw us a bone here!

Anyone with suggestions how to get more HP at current boost level easier than the above future bolt-ons, please speak up.

Cams.

Also: A new PCV valve, honing and re-ringing the cylinders. That blowby could be better used acting on the pistons instead of the crankcase.

ALready have a new PCV valve with the additional inline plastic check valve mod that some people propose on here...extra check valve between PCV and intake manifold. Works good BTW- With this mod, I'm thinking little if any blowby is coming from the pcv valve air stream while under boost.

So that leaves rings and cylinders. And with 123K on this motor, I'm sure a rebuild is due, but compression numbers are still within spec (on low end though) when we last checked about a year ago.

What about cams? You didn't mention them. A set of FP2x's would be pretty good for a 20G's rpm range...

Not sure what you mean here. Can you elaborate? If your dipstick is launching, your PCV isn't getting rid of all the blowby pressure in the crankcase.

My td05h 20g worked VERY well with the fp2x cams. There was enough up top for 40+ lb/min with stock intake manifold and evo3 exhaust manifold to 7500rpms yet spool was still fast enough to flow over 36 lb/min at 5800rpms. The best thing is that it felt the same (same powerband) as my small 16g, just MORE. The compressor can "shine" with that level of flow. I know that the td06sl turbine wheel is bigger and will be laggier and flow even more. It shouldn't be THAT much different in lag and power band however, considering the td06 and td06h 20g cars I've handled all had spool within 400rpms of my td05h 18g.

Ive got the side port on the valve cover (the one that points to passenger side) vented to atmosphere via a small air filter. It isnt dripping with oil so I dont think much air is getting vented there even under hard boost.

The normal PCV line I have connected to the intake mani just like stock. But in between the PCV and the intake mani is another air check valve that prevents flow TO the head while under boost, just like the PCV valve does. It basically just backs up what the PCV does.

So between the PCV/ check valve combo line which vents whenever valve cover pressure is higher than intake mani pressure, and the side valve cover vent which is open to atmosphere (small filter on it) I dont think there is a problem with built up pressure in the valve cover.

Am I wrong?

Have you checked FP's site? The manis are selling for group buy prices nowadays.

I have had bad luck with little filters on that side port. After it gets oil soaked and a tad dirty it is pretty restrictive. I was still blowing my dipstick out and everythign else. I took the filter off and it went away but spewed oil everywhere, so now i just have it open with a 6AN line going to an "open" catch can (no vac or pressure in it)

Yeah, I'm waiting for a JNZ oil catch can I ordered a week ago. Should do the trick. ALthough, I don't see much oil residue in the filter but I suppose it is still more restrictive than a catch can.
