The new 2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse will be road racing in the NASA United States Touring Car Championship, USTCC next season. Robert Tallini, driver and partner of Road Race Motorsports a division of Road Race Engineering will be driving. How cool is this? :thumb:

Here's USTCC's web site to watch his progress next year. I have to assume he'll kick butt!

Here's the new USTCC Honda. There will be a Honda race production car built just for this series. Looks like the import manufacturers are climbing on the road race band wagon. It's about time!!!

Sounds awesome. The Archer's, god bless em all, unfortunately showed the scca and other organizations how good our cars could become, sort of like the old auid's. Then they proceded to ban the awds from most racing series ROFL

There's another Firestone car for sale in the Grassroots Motorsports mag. 2800 miles and all the original graphics, asking $7500 last I remember.

that is so awesome! I wanted to build a car for that series, but other things have came up.

They should use the Ralli///Art Eclipse if it makes it into production. :D

i was expecting to see a race car, not a show car

Here's the Honda race car. The RRE Eclipse is posted in the Hang Out forums under the same heading...

Greg I believe he was talking about the Talon at Archer's.

How about $180 and you can buy a greyhound bust ticket and come teach me how to drive my car ROFL

Oh-my-God! You guys have me laughing out loud.

Hey Greg, where are you getting the info about the entries for next year's USTCC anyway? Through people you know?

Yeah... it's all over the NASA USTCC forums and I think the boys are getting scared. Both Mitsubishi and Honda have decided this would be a good venue to get involved with. There's a couple other manufacturers, but I won't know how serious they are for another month or so... It's like all of a sudden road racing is becoming the NEW IN THING, who woulda thought? OMG

Actually I heard Tony Stewart say the exact same thing today on speedvision while talking about the Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona. WTF

good,i love road racing,to me thats what it's all aout.Don't get me wrong,1/4 mile is a great way of measuring your cars performance, and it does take skill,bt road raing takes skills, balls, expirience and money.I've got number 2 out of the four :p .A road race car is just more complete.I hope it goes good for the 4g guys.I wonder how much the little cow will weigh in at after a racing diet.

anyone got a pic of the 06 eclipse that hes gonna run? I saw it in a mag, but i cant remember what mag it was.
