So I've completed my first autocross season and all in all I can in 4th place in SM in my region. 2nd 3rd and 4th place were all separated by not even .25 points in raw points and pax which means there's some pretty good competition. Being a rookie I thought I did pretty good but I want to step I up next year so there no doubt what I'm there to do, which is win. Right now I have tokico illuminas with prokits. It's a good street setup but I want more. So my dilemma is that I really want DG/konis but then there's coilovers called Feal 441's. All the Subaru guys swear by them and I've heard a bad thing about either but Feals are $650 cheaper with out group buys. I've talked to a few people but I'm still not 100% sure of which way to go between the two. If anyone has experience with both autocrossing (I doubt it) I'd really appreciate it.

I doubt that you will find many DSM owners with our coilover system competing in Auto cross, we just started advertising in this market. I can tell you that we have top level SCCA drivers placing well using our Feal 441 kits. These are guys running Subarus and Toyota FRSs, but that is because there are more people running this platform in general. We also have two cars ranked in the top 5 in the Formula Drift pro championship, winners of several classes of Rally racing in the nation, and top performers in Redline and Global time attack.

That being said, setting up a 2g is not more complex for us. The biggest difference is the fact that the front has a greater motion ratio, and this is the only non Mac Pherson strut car where we employ a spherical bearing top mount.

This is an older thread but I want to bring up some good thread topics for the road racing guys or those interested in getting into the road racing experience.

Our current setup (which is for Road Atlanta) is KYB AGX Struts with Ground Control Coilovers with 650 lbs (front) and 350 lbs (rear).

The KYB's have been on the car for some time now and we may come across that it is time to change out the struts before we begin racing again next season ... rally1G, we may need to get together and discuss what you guys have and maybe something we can do together, when we get a little further along in the year.
