Resolved 1G Turbo Brake Brake Caliper Sleeve

Hello,

I was performing some maintenance on my 1990 Turbo FWD and I noticed that the rear brakes were missing the part #4 in the attached image. It is mitsubishi part # MB238738 and it has been discontinued. My question is, does anyone have the dimensions of this part and/or know where I can find one aftermarket?

I've seen the pins and the boots but never the sleeve by itself. You may have to get another caliper. Money says that sonetime in its life the pin got stick and that was the owners solution. Delete the sleeve and get a new pin.

The sleeves are available for other cars, so I am hoping that if I can get the dimensions I can source something that will work, I can modify it, or I can make my own. I have new boots (#4) and the pin (#2).

For those who read this in the future, these parts are available aftermarket as of Jan 2025. My order arrived and everything appears to work well on my bench test fit.

Part #4 in the image is available from Raybestos with part# H15138. Carlson also has one but I was not able to find their part number. https://www.raybestos.com/disc-brake-caliper-guide-bushing-kit-h15138.html . Places like RockAuto, Napa, etc. do not list this as an available part for a DSM but if you go directly to Raybestos site, it is clearly listed. You get upper and lower guide bushings for one side.

The boot kit [#5] and the bolt [#2] are also available. Many aftermarket companies make them and they are correctly listed as working with DSM's. I went with Better Brake Parts part 16409K and 14103K respectively. You get the upper and lower bolt for 1 side. One boot kit does both sides.
