i have a 1gen and i am put a motor in it outta and awd and i need to know if the motor mount brackets are different for the front and back and if so can i figure out which ones are awd and which ones are fwd

the motor is from an awd car and i am trying to put it in my fwd car and i wanted to know if i need different motor mount brackets that connect from the block to the cross member is that clear enough

He is asking if the brackets to the engine are different? The ones that bolt to the motor? I know awd to fwd they were a different #. Does any one have the # off there brackets, that owns a fwd 90?

Iugrad92turbo, if YOUR car is fwd, whats the # off your front and rear motor mount bracket?

no prob chico, lets hope we figure the numbers out, and get the right brackets. so we can drop the engine in sometime this week. out of all these cars i am working on, it would be nice to see atleast 1 engine in the engine bay....LOL

They're the same for all the 4g63's as long as you're not using Auto mounts in a manual vice versa (only the cross member mounts are different).

This is for the 1g 4g.

Cant see the numbers on them especailly the back, front never looked at them got it from advanced auto, years ago off my other dsm. Getting a awd shell soon.

The actual mount is not what we are talking about. The bracket that bolts to the engine block has a #, in this case his says 347. But I had thought the awd were different from the fwd.

Its a turbo 4g. The motor came out of a awd car. Ok so maybe I was getting confused with the auto mount issue, it's been awhile.

All those mounts should be the same. I've got a 5 speed N/T and 2 5 speed AWD's and they're the same on all 3. I believe even the autos are the same, it's just the inserts on the mounts that are different in the auto to manual.

I've said it before, the mounts/brackets are not all the same. Here's a couple comparison pictures of three different rear mounts, numbered 193, 194, and 195.

ASA shows the part number for the rear mount bracket on an AWD 5spd, as MD136195. The front AWD bracket is MD133347.

It shows the 5-speed, FWD, turbo, rear mount as MD136194 and the front as MD133346.

The 5-speed, FWD, non-turbo, 2.0L rear mount is MD136193 and the front as MD133345.

ok, I knew I wasn't dreaming, 194b is the awd rear mount, 5speed. I think 193 is for a FWD NOT SURE THO

I need fwd bracket #s. I am installing the engine for domothegreat. One thing I don't wanna keep doing is, pull the engine in and out to change the brackets.

I can check mine tomorrow, non-turbo and turbo 5-speed, front wheel drive. It's too dark and cold out now.

I don't know if it is just coincidence as it seems way too convenient, but ASA shows the part number for the rear mount bracket on an AWD 5spd, as MD136195. The front AWD bracket is MD133347.

Edit: See here for pictures of the AWD front mounts: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/custom-fabrication/383215-new-3-pc-crossmember-input-needed-3.html#post152398190

It shows the 5-speed, FWD, turbo, rear mount as MD136194 and the front as MD133346.

The 5-speed, FWD, non-turbo, 2.0L rear mount is MD136193 and the front as MD133345.

I'll still check mine tomorrow and see how they compare.

awesome thanks man!

I checked both of my FWD turbo vehicles and my non-turbo 2.0L block that has the front mount still attached.

Both FWD turbo vehicles had 194 rear and 346 front brackets.

The non-turbo engine has a 345 front bracket and I assume that is where I got the 193 rear bracket pictured above from.

Hope that helps you get it together.

It goes a bit further than the rear bracket, I think.

All 1G FWD cars have the same subframe and center member, meaning they all utilize the same bolt holes for the front and rear rubber mounts. All 1G FWD 5spds have the same rear mount, but different brackets. So somehow in the front, the mount and bracket must make up for that half inch (-ish) difference in the rear between the turbo and non-turbo models.

Disclaimer for below: just because I have had these experiences does not mean this is the end all be all truth.

For what it is worth, I have a front mount from a 5-speed, non-turbo car (2.0L and 1.8L are the same for their respective drivetrains) in mine and it works just fine; that is to say that despite a difference in part number, it is interchangeable. Now if that is the case, I can only assume that the non-turbo and turbo front brackets make up that difference and are, therefore, not the same.

Another thing to think about: one of my turbo vehicles is a N/T swap. I did not switch any of the mounts, but kept the brackets that came on the turbo engine. It bolted up fine. Had I tried to use the N/T rear bracket, I would very likely have needed the front as well.

Unfortunately my experience with AWD cars is pretty low so I can't really comment on where exactly the front mount is located with respect to the FWD's front mount.
